The Scarlet Tide
While watching Allison Krauss sing this during the oscars,
--It reminded me of *Shrub and his gang of swindlers.

I'd love to see a video montage of this song dedicated to all those American service personnel in Iraq,Afganistan and their loved ones still awaiting their return home.

*The Scarlet Tide

When I recall, his parting words
Must I accept, his fate
Or take myself, far from this place

I thought I heard, a black bell toll
A little bird, did sing
Man has no choice,
When he wants every thing.

We'll rise above the scarlet tide
That trickles down through the mountain,
And separates, the widow from the bride

Man goes beyond, his own decision
Gets caught up in, a mechanism
Of swindelers, who act like kings
And brokers who, break everything

The dark of night, was swiftly fading
Close to the dawn...of day
Why would I want him, just to lose him again.

We'll rise above the scarlet tide
That trickles down through the mountain
And separates, the widow from the bride.

1. That song should have won the Oscar...

...it's so heart-wrenchingly beautiful.

(Not unlike AK herself. BTW - why did nobody TELL me she was wearing that dress to the Grammys? I might have watched!)

On edit: changed "heart-WENCHingly" to heart-WRENCHingly" :eyes:

2. Agree. As much as I liked LOTR
Allison and not Annie Lennox should have won.
