Get the moving vans ready Bush is going back to Crawford Texas. Folks that is 118,000 jobs this year, Bush predicted 2.6 Million. Well he only has 2.5 million to go in ten months. Thats 260,000 jobs a month he will need. Aint gonna happen.

The nation's added a paltry 21,000 jobs last month, according to a surprisingly weak government report Friday that turned up the heat on President Bush as he seeks re-election.

The Labor Department report was the latest to dash hopes that employment was following the rest of the economy higher, leaving some economists to warn that robust hiring may still be some way off.

''The job market is stuck in a cycle of inertia,'' said John Challenger, head of the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. ''The fact is, we are going to have to get used to slow job creation in this country.''

Details in the report were as bleak as the headline figure. Private-sector employment was actually unchanged in February, while the government added 21,000 workers.

It also showed job creation in December and January was weaker than previously thought. The count of job gains for January was revised to 97,000 from 112,000 and for December to just 8,000 from 16,000.

1. As Cheney said yesterday...
if it wasn't for Bush's tax cut plan and a change of policy from the Clinton days we would not have the job creation we are now having.

HAHAHA...this guy is messed up!

12. They need those
government workers to regulate all those private sector jobs that are about to appear. Like those 2 jobs in Bakersfield CA.

14. You're Not Only Correct. . .
. . .but i proved it mathematically. Employment saturation (my own index) is an outcome of macroeconomic health. These people act as if it is a dependent, tangential parameter that follows GDP growth.

It's not. There is almost zero correlation between GDP growth and saturation of employment. As a matter of fact, the saturation of employment is actually a leading lever to near future economic growth.

So, Mary T, you were right. So right, in fact, that it can be proven correct with data.

5. "...get used to slow job creation in this country.'' That's missing
something? Oh yeah! It needs the following clarification, "while bush* is pResident."

Hey Challenger, Clinton created 7,877 jobs A DAY, EVERY DAY for 8 YEARS!! Get used to THAT!!

(Note: this is average - 23,000,000 jobs over 8 years, or 2920 days - Not to be taken as LITERALLY created 7,877 each day, there were obviously some days that were better than others)

7. I'm sick of the defeatist attitude of the right concerning this
They say that Americans workers have to learn to compete with low wage workers in other countries, meaning we have to accept low wages also.

They say we need to get used to slow job growth.

They say outsourcing is here to stay.

Bull!

Get rid of Bush

9. I can account for 150 jobs lost today
Last week our company announced they were laying off 150 people across two campuses. The first round just hit our department and a friend got let go today. That and they are relocating most of the department to another campus means major upheaval going on here. And all because they are not making the levels they predicted to Wall Street. The people must pay for the increase of wealth for the already wealthy.

10. He will create 2.5 million jobs in October
When he has a double parade of Saddam's and Osama's heads on pikes down the streets of New York City.

2.5 million people will be hired to pick up 1 or 2 pieces of ticker tape each.

Technicalities. They will be hired for one brief job. No benefits, extremely temporary.

15. Don't worry. They'll tout this as an accomplishment.
The way that this administration works is they claim that their failures are in fact accomplishments. * will be on TV soon boasting of 21,000 new jobs and a continued rate of unemployment of 5.6%. Take it to the bank.

16. Has Anyone Noticed This ?

The economy created a revised 97,000 jobs in January, now they say the economy
created 21,000 jobs in February.

1) What if they revise the 21,000 number down when the March report comes out ?

2) Bush and his gang of propaganda spinners said the economy is improving, if that is
the case how come the jobs created number dropped from 97,000 to 21,000 ?

3) If the economy was improving the job creation numbers should go up not down, right ?

4) In the world of Bush, up is down, and down is up, do they think anyone is stupid enough
to fall for this crap ?

5) How can they even claim the economy is improving when the job creation is getting worse ?

21. Because the last three years have shown them "Mein Kampf" still works
And the things Orwell spoke of are now common "marketing strategies".

They lie. They know they can get away with it. They have the greatest propganda machjine in human history, and the best financed.

They lie because they're liars. They lie because they can get away with it. They lie because they know the opposition Party isn;t going to call them on it.

They lie because Orwell and Goebbels were right in the 40s, and they're right at this moment in time, also.

19. The numbers have been revised downwards
it seems like for every economic report. They come out on pink clouds saying the economy is improving blowing their horns and making all sorts of noise.
Then, quietly, almost a whisper the next month they tell us the numbers were wrong.

20. Sounds a little like a "malaise", doesn't it ?
''The fact is, we are going to have to get used to slow job creation in this country.''

Does that mean we need to get used to being in a depression, also???
