Tweety has officially lost it!
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 12:09 PM by dennis4868
You guys may have discussed this already so forgive me, I was not able to go online last night. But did anyone see Tweety last night? He had someone on from Moveon.org and they were showing their anti-Bush ad. Somehow Tweety said that the commercial was about sexual frustration.HAHAHAHA....people, this guys is CRAZY! I am serious about this. He needs a doctor and some powerful medications right now. I feel bad for him because he has no idea he is embarrassing himself.

5. The MOVEON.ORG
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 12:10 PM by dennis4868
ad was about a guy working late from a manufacturing job and coming home from the job and finds all the bills he has to pay. He looks very tired and upset, then goes into his bedroom to find his wife sleeping. He sits on the bed (fully clothed) and tries to wake his wife up to talk to her.....SEX? HAHAHA

15. He didn't try to wake her up..
He gently patted her leg.. It DOES show the wistful side though, in that here's a poor guy who gets home long after his wife has gone to sleep, and they never have time together.. That's the "family values" angle.. He's asleep when SHE gets up for work, and she eats alone and he eats a lone at work, only to arrive home late...when his family is all asleep..

The commercial is about futility..

26. Exactly.
He passively and wistfully pats her leg. He's clearly frustrated because he never sees her. (He visited his kid's bedroom in the previous scene. Wonder if it's a Something About Amelia situation?)

Like the guy said: Get you mind out of the gutter.

I mentioned this in another Tweety-related thread last night. The guy is just relentless when he gets a notion in that lil' noggin of his. He kept grilling the guy who had the good grace to look embarrassed for Chris, something he's obviously far too unreflective to do himself. I swear to god he reminds me of Nuke LaLoosh sometimes.

27. Parents who really can't afford child-care...
...and who are too conscientious to simply let their kids be latchkey kids. Such parents will often work separate shifts so the other parent can be home with the kids. Another recipe for exhaustion: when do they ever get enough sleep? Another symptom of the ever-shrinking middle-class.

28. We used to do that in our family
My husband left at 4 am and drove west for an hour and a half to his job.. He got home around 6 pm..

I left for my job an hour and a half drive east.. I left at 6PM and got home around 1:30 am.. We sometimes never saw each other for days.. We left notes on the microwave..

I would finally fall asleep around 3 am and have to get up at 6:30 or so , to take the kids to school.. Then I would catch a nap here and there when I got the chance..

That wacky schedule is why I cannot sleep well now..:(

29. MoveOn ad closer to how most Americans live than any Bush ad
I think it is clear that the Repugs will try to stop MoveOn from airing these ads. If the networks bow to their pressure a massive anti-media demonstration should be planned and folks should just stop spending any money except for necessities all across America until we get our freedoms back. Every dime you spend is helping Bush claim a recovery. And your money is not helping anyone except the corporations who are outsourcing American jobs.

About trains and tunnels, or hot dogs chasing donuts.

16. Tweety also asked...
When Mondale was running for Wellstone's senate seat, Tweety asked someone (paraphrase) "So is Mondale horny to get back into politics"

Perverted media whore = Chris Matthews.

17. I heard him the other night making a strange joke
going to commercial. He said, "Who will John Kerry pick for the same sex ticket?" joking about same sex marriage, I assume. I have always wandered what gives with him, and all the rest of them too, and their sex fixations!

I mean, everybody likes to joke around and talk about sex, but they are just weirdly fixated on it when they should be professional and serious about what they are doing. It's like they have no idea how their not doing their job affects people and the country and the world.

18. That's weird
The guy in that commercial looked way too tired to me.

IMHO, that commercial is more powerful than the one that won the contest. Who among us doesn't know exactly how that guy felt? For me, it was during the Reagan years. But it's the same desperation so many people are facing today.
