Tommy Thompson?
I heard on the radio yesterday that T.T. was resigning as director of Health & Humas Services. I've seen nothing about it and didn't hear about it again. Does anyone know anything about it?

1. Haven't heard this, but if it's true --
-- there's a party at my house as soon as it hits the media.

In his next life, Tommy Thompson will be a bus seat.

I grew up under King Tommy's reign in WI.
Couldn't wish him a more perfect fate.

4. You gotta feel sorry for him though...
He wanted to be Sec. Trans so bad. He was quite the advocate for rail. He planned for a high speed connection between Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and the Twin Cities. He wanted to get the ball rolling on an efficient passenger rail system spanning the entire country. Naturally, the Airline and Trucking industires would have none of it, so minibrain stuck him in HHS 1, because he didin't want to hurt his feeling and 2, because of his implimentation of W2 (Wisconsin Works, welfare-to-work program that has been riddled with corruption form the get-go) once 9/11 and the anthrax incidents went down, the poor guy was in way over his head.

9. Hi, Jonathan. Well, you bring up a good --
-- point about the job he's doing. I guess I blame Bush for giving him the wrong job.

7. I thought he..
was going to leave politics and go into privae buisness.

Maybe he caould open a tavern like his brother. Hell, whenever he talks he always sounds like he's had a few anyways...

Remember the Lambeau speech in '97? he sounded more sloshed than Nick Nolte.

8. Seriously sloshed
He sounded and acted exactly like my grandfather when he's had a whiskey too many. The problem was it was only 11am when King Tommy gave the speech.

12. Thank you
Hopefully we can live up to the standard set by your grandmother and Fighting Bob. They set the bar pretty high.

13. He may run for Governor again
He hates Doyle so much, he just might run to get him out of office. I believe he has said words to that effect.

11. Yes - will announce after election, if necessary
Then will be back in Wisconsin tending all the big bucks from previous campaigns that he parked in a "research" fund where he will head up some kind of Midwest "Study" foundation. With lots of trips to wonderful places with his donor friends (and his current girlfriend) to "study" Republican issues. Then back to the governor's mansion he hopes or possibly head up UW system.
