Spiking the al-Qaeda investigation
Could somebody point me to any stories which lay out in clear, intelligible terms, the manner in which Bush ordered the FBI to stop their investigation of al-Qaeda in early 2001? About the only mainstream article I can come up with is Greg Palast's work, and while his investigations are of immeasurable value, his coy gossip-columnist sort of style tends to mask the factual nuggets a bit. I need links I can provide to skeptics that don't mince words, on news sites rather than blogs. Any help would be appreciated!

1. All you need to know can be found here:
www.cooperativeresearch.org Fully backed up with mainstream cites.

You might find the essay "Escape From Afghanistan" quite interesting as well.

2. Thanks, that timeline is amazing!
Unfortunately, looks like the particular bit of damning evidence I'd like to see isn't out there, unless it's in that article at Jane's Intelligence Review that requires a $40 payment to read.

4. Thanks, I've gone over that PBS site
But if there's anything specifically pinning the closure of the al-Qaeda investigation on the BFEE, I can't find it.

5. There was no spiking
BushCo simply ordered the intel agencies to back off the bin Laden family and other House of Saad buddies of Bush.
