Reagan Dem's but i do think they will be voting for local politicians who have a reasonable attitude on the whole issue. i think the the issue is starting to backfire on bush,it`s not an issue that most state legislators don`t want to touch...after all this is a states rights issue not a federal issue. and more importantly the majority of Americans don`t care or they don`t want to hear about it. the re-thugs should have learned this during the Clinton mess-people did`t want to hear about blow-jobs on the tv and radio....

All our gay friends here in Philly are Dems of one stripe or another.
I do know there is a branch of the Log Cabin set here, but they keep a pretty low profile.
I also have a feeling that this "Gay Marriage" thing is going to throw them over to our side, because it reveals the Repugs for what they are, gay bashing bigots.

5. Marriage licenses fall into the same category as driver's licenses.

While each state issues its own driver's licenses, each state is also required to recognize every other state's driver's license while the resident of another state is temporarily within its boundaries. Should the non-resident decide to become a resident, a new license must be issued.
Marriage licenses of one state are recognized in all states and countries regardless of where issued. Additionally, marriage licenses are not required to be renewed when relocating from one country to another let alone from one state to another.
I see a real conundrum in the future because this is not going to remain a states rights issue for very long.

Marriage licenses declared legal in one state are thus far declared legal in all states. That is how things stand now. If that were not the case, then married individuals would be required to remarry every time they relocated to a state that did not recognize the license. Gay marriages have not yet been declared legal which is what your FAQ addresses. In each state where they are currently being issued, there are challenges to the legality of the license which puts those licenses in limbo. MA has not yet issued any license; therefore, will not be in the mix until May if I remember the deadline correctly.
To combat the current situation, state laws are being rewritten such that they can chose which licenses to honor or not. State Constitutions are being changed so that challenges to state law will be unsuccessful. This is all in the hopes that these actions will be sufficient to stem the tide; however, tides are rarely stemmed. The whole problem began when the government decided to get into the business of giving benefits to married people.
There are a whole host of problems that are going to arise which I really do not wish to get into at this time. What I will say is that it is going to be real interesting to see how this plays out.

there were millions of Reagan Democrats. There are probably fewer than 5,000 Log Cabin Republicans. They don't even list their membership numbers on their website. The California chapter, presumably the nation's largest, is 400 people.

They will not be a factor. We'll pick up a few thousand scattered votes from them.
