Post-primary media hatchet job on Kerry begins…
It wasn’t 24 hours after Super Tuesday that the media whores began their hatchet job on Kerry. Last night driving home from work I listened to NPR (5-5:30) and heard two “experts” discuss the problems Kerry might have during this campaign.

NPR's Robert Siegel talks with E.J. Dionne of The Washington Post and David Brooks, columnist for The New York Times about the preparedness of likely Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry to face President George Bush.
http://www.npr.org/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=2&prgDate=3-Mar-2004

The two “concerns” I remember (or only heard since I was laughing so much—not a good thing to do while driving) were:

Kerry is “untested”
Kerry is from the “privileged class”
?????

“Untested”—By “untested,” the media whores “explained” that Kerry won the Democratic primary more as a result of other candidates “imploding” (i.e., Howard Dean) rather than from his campaigning. Fair enough, I suppose, but where were these clowns four years ago when the “untested” Bush was kept from public scrutiny during his campaign? Have they forgotten that Bush was the “chosen one” and refrained from traditional campaign practices? Did they forget that Bush didn’t even bother to show up for the Republican primary debates? As I recall, the whole GOP primary process was a farce: it was Bush Jr. all the way—no other Republican need apply.

NPR might have also said something about Kerry’s legislative prowess in the Senate (not too many authored bills, or something to that effect), but I didn’t catch all of it.

“From the privileged class”—The media whores wondered if Kerry, from the privileged class, will be able to connect with the common man, the way Bush did/does. What?! (I screamed as my car veered onto the shoulder of the highway). “Privileged class?!” What about Bush Jr.? Here’s a man who never worked a day in his life, shirked his military obligation (after he signed on the dotted line) without consequences, and who was drunk/high till age 40, yet lives a life of comfort and ease. If that’s not the “privileged class” then I don’t know what is. But Kerry may not be able to connect with the “common man???”

The sad, sad story is that had the Media done their job and asked Bush these same questions (as well as many others) four years ago, we would be in a much better world today. Rather, they wrote their news stories form RNC blast faxes, conducted interviews with the “candidate” through Karen Hughes using questions OKed by Karl Rove, and never questioned the answers. Instead they chose to lie about Al Gore (while never telling the truth about Bush), criticizing him for the color of his shirts, while praising Bush’s “electability” with ridiculous “who would you rather have a beer with” polls.

NPR has turned whore (“New Presstitutes for Republicans”). Last year, Barry Crimmins was asked by an NPR producer to submit a feature bashing Democrats, specifically those Democrats who were challenging Bush in 2004 (when the field of candidates was 7 or so). Crimmins used to have an essay titled “I Was Almost a Stooge For National Plutocrat Radio” linked on his website, but now it has been removed. I did find this site that has a little of his essay with comments:

So the Media whores have sharpened their hatchets and are going after John Kerry. Well, this time I think we are ready for them! The difference now is we have the internet and can get news stories immediately without the filtering of the Bush-fellating media whores (for example, DU already has almost 41,500 reporters, journalists, and columnists!). We have greater access to the truth now then anytime since the VRWC seized the media and this no doubt scares (or should scare) the Bushistas and their sycophantic media whores.

1. Kerry looks like an indomitable fighter....He will fight back and make
them eat their words....That's my impression of him....When they show clips of him in crowds, he seems to me to be interacting very comfortably....I don't think he'll be like Gore who allowed the media to define who he was...IMO...
