Tweety is making me sick tonight!
He's got a lovefest going on with Bush's new campaign ads.

MSNBC has run his ads probably a dozen times for free today, in a thinly veiled justification of "analyzing" them.

Frank Luntz needs to be taken out back and pummeled.

I dislike that fool a lot. He tried to explain how Iowans should think before the caucuses, and I have really wanted a shot at him since.

17. That Is True, Sir
Iy was my own first thought on seeing the clips from these efforts, that "Morning in America" is a damned bad reading of the popular mood. The lady soldier walking away from her family image in particular is a poor one.

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

16. I like it - and agree "it's not my fault" is the Bush Mantra - will the
media let him get away with it?

So far Tweety on MSNBC seems to be saying - a whore like me will note notice or point our the "it's not my fault" Bush Mantra.

I did notice the fact free "there was a recession already -Clinton's fault.", "the corporate scandals -Clinton's fault.", "Osama bin Laden - Clinton's fault.", "Iraq - CIA's fault." are in the early ads, as well as the "Everything else that is bad is because of 911 and I am leading us to better."

But the highlight of Josh's memo I thought was "It's midnight in America. But if the Democrats were in, the sun might never come up!"

"I know what we need to do...." "I know where I need to take the country..."

all throughout... er... George.. if you know.. then why aren't you doing it... a "secret plan" that had to wait until your second term? Very, very week ads. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/mmedia/politics/030304-2v.htm

10. Did Tweety analyze this ad?
George W. Bush: When we make a pledge We keep our word. When America works, America prospers. So my economic security plan can be summed up in one word. Jobs.

On Screen: 2.9 Million Jobs Lost, (Bureau of Labor Statistics.)

George W. Bush: The No Child Left Behind Act is opening the door of opportunity to all of America's children.

On Screen: No Child Left Behind Act Underfunded by $9 Billion. (H.R.1, 2001; Bush's FY2005 budget.)

George W. Bush: I've got a plan to do something about that, it's to make health care affordable and available.

On Screen: 3.8 million more Americans Lost Health Insurance. (Census Bureau, Historic Health Insurance Tables, Table H1.)

George W. Bush: Our budget will run a deficit that will be small and short term.

On Screen: Annual Deficit to Exceed $400 billion for next 10 years. (CBPP, analysis of CBO, 2/1/04)

George W. Bush: We should and must provide the best care for anybody who's willing to put their life in harm's way.

On Screen: 200,000 veterans cut from health system. (Department of Veterans Affairs, 9/03.)

George W. Bush: We're going to set aside all the payroll taxes aimed for social security and spend it on social security.

On Screen: Raids entire $2.6 trillion Social Security Trust Fund (Congressional Budget Office, 3/7/03)

George W. Bush: When we make a pledge, we mean it. We keep our word. We keep our word.

20. Campaign Finance Laws have been screwed with all day
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 08:51 PM by MessiahRp
I'm sorry but every fricken news outlet picked up Bush's ads and ran them for free today and it wasn't just one of them. Hardball aired the three English ads three times a piece. That's absolutely ridiculous. The Moveon.org ad got a 2 second ending clip at most on all of these shows. The Bush Campaign should be forced to pay for each and every showing of the ads today because they have enough money where they shouldn't get the right to avoid campaign finance laws. They never aired Democratic Political ads multiple times in one showing from any one candidate and you can bet they won't spend a whole show evaluating Kerry's ads on Hardball either.

This is blatant Media Whore bullshit tonight.

Oh and fuck Jack Kemp for accusing Kerry of "fear-mongering" and "Class Warfare". If there ever has been an administration to do that it's the fucks he's defending not us.

Sorry I'm just a bit pissed off tonight.

24. And the invocation of 9/11...
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 09:12 PM by MessiahRp
In these ads... in every speech since is fucking tiring. The guy purposely did nothing to prevent it and has stonewalled the commission investigating it.

We should bring that up repeatedly to make his favorite moment in American history either a non-issue or a negative issue for him. If he doesn't want to tell the truth about 9/11 he doesn't deserve to use it as a campaign issue.

Judging them as though I were judging a movie; it's impossible for me to disagree with Matthews. They make Bush look like the ignorant manchild to get voter sympathy for the poor chimp.

edit: The references to 9/11 were shameless, but I'm sure they'll work well to brainwash the masses.

26. I saw two of them on the Newshour. They are good.
Freedom, Faith, Family.

Good imagery...black & white moving to color. Has some "firefighters" pix near the end. ..ringing changes on 9-11 & patriotism.

And the one w. Bush & Laura is sharp..they use Bush as a voiceover, but wisely dont show much visual of Smirky due to his sucky bodylanguage.

Bush has some good media guys working for him.
