TALLAHASSEE - The issue just won't die.
If Florida Democrats have their way, that is.

Scott Maddox, chairman of the Florida Democratic Party, strolled onto the Capitol plaza Wednesday with a pair of sheep for a photo-friendly jab at Republican lawmakers. He cited House Speaker Johnnie Byrd's description of House members as sheep to criticize Republicans for blindly following the speaker.

Reporters, photographers and, eventually, children from a nearby Children's Week rally surrounded the leashed sheep, which Maddox named Bo and Peep.

Maddox said he and the animals were staging a ``silent protest on behalf of sheep everywhere who have suffered the indignity and insult of being compared to Republican legislators.''
