Other October surprises

Too much emphasis has been placed on the possibility of capturing or killing Osama bin Laden in October. If the Bush Administration cannot deliver on that, there are other October surprises that could be delivered. Among them are:

1) Capture or killing of Mullah Mohammed Omar.
2) Indictment of Ken Lay
3) Suddenly the casualties in Iraq just "stop" (they will be covered up).
4) The October jobs report is remarkably robust (or so it will be reported).
5) Gas prices will suddenly plummet.
6) A more extensive "surprise" Bush visit to the troops in Iraq.

There are many other possibilities that I'm sure could be suggested. When you control the White House you have a much greater ability to be master of events, rather than a servant of them. Or to just make events up.

Vote Republican and win this one for the Gipper.

That memorial service will be a time for me to head to Blockbuster Video.

Bill Schneider to usher out some AWESOME polls about Reagan support among people who were likely to vote for Kerry but are now going to vote for Bush who also like Chinese food. Or something equally inane and confusing.

They'd have to bribe a nurse or something.

I wouldn't put it past them. It's a lot easier than those pesky small plane crashes.

There was bad blood between Ronnie and Poppie even before the assassination attempt.
