Question regarding write-in votes in CA primary...
Hi,

I have a TRUE conservative (non-neocon) friend who voted in the Republican primary yesterday. He wrote-in Tom Tancredo for President. I am going to paste our conversation here to save on typing. What we are curious about is how could not ONE SINGLE voter in CA have voted against Bush? Also, are there requirements for write-in candidates? Are only votes for "approved" write-ins counted?

Thanks for any info!

SR: hey! what the hell.. it says bush got 100% of the votes? thats a LIE i wrote in tancredo
Lisa: DIEBOLD!!!!lol
SR: omg no
Lisa: maybe it was 99.5 and they rounded up?
SR: well it lists an exact number of votes
SR: and it says 100% reporting
Lisa: and it says zero for anyone else?
SR: 97,344 votes in my county for bush 100%
Lisa: maybe you should call the county clerk and ask some questions! (on tape, of course)
SR: yes
SR: those bastards the whole things rigged :-(
SR: they CANNOT claim bush got every vote. that is wrong and i know it
SR: and jacki voted for tom too
Lisa: You should start something about it!!!
SR: well, see im not being petty because this is the OFFICIAL secretary of state website supposedly listing EVERY SINGLE VOTE?
SR: he did not get every vote
SR: yet it lists 100% yes he did
SR: i voted for tancredo and i believe i know others in my web group who did too
SR: in CA
SR: maybe because tom wasnt an approved write in?
SR: but they just sayd 'just type it in and click it'
Lisa: hmmmm... I don't know the rules on that
SR: they didnt say 'here is an approved list'
SR: well regardless. it might be 100% but could it be 100% if not every person voted for him? how could that be?
SR: -----
for President:
819 0f 819 precincts reporting:
bush statewide 1,949,746 100%
SR: dos that meabn that only 1,949,746 people voted?
SR: not 747?
SR: one million nine hundred forty nine, evenhundredfortysix people voted in ca primary? and all of them voted for bush? BULLSHIT! IIIIIIIIIII DID NOTTTTTTTTTT
SR: ;(
Lisa: Someone out there HAD to have voted for one of the challengers!
SR: u can vouch for me that i would never vote for bush lol i was even on kabc radio saying that very thing monday :D
SR: well see he had no challengers
SR: mine was a write in
Lisa: yes he did... .check politics1.com
Lisa: most people don't know them, but surely 1 person in 2 million did!
SR: but, did they throw mine out? because tancredo wasnt on the list? and if so,... why did they allow me to write it in?
SR: im telling ya the whole thing is rigged.
SR: here is my post
SR: i voted for Tancredo yesterday! :-D Now i have a serious question. The official secretary of state website gave these numbers:

for President:
819 0f 819 precincts reporting:
bush statewide 1,949,746 votes, 100%

does this mean that 1,949,746 people voted, in total? that not one more or one less person voted, besides the 1,949,746?

and that every single one of them in CA voted for Bush?

SR: because if so, that is 100% false, fraudulent , corrupt, and this whole thing is monkey-rigged.

i voted electronically and I asked the poll worker how to write in a candidate, they said just click 'write in' on the touchscreen and type it in. I typed in tom tancredo, his name appeared, and i clicked his name. i got verification of my tancredo vote as well. (it shows all your votes on the screen
SR:
now i ask you this, why does the official secretary of state tally show that every single republican in CA o voted for bush?
