AoL poll, and comments on Aol...
If the election were held today, who would get your vote?
John Kerry 50%
George W. Bush 50%
Would Edwards make the best running mate for Kerry?
Yes 63%
No 37%
Total Votes: 281,474

Comments from the Aol board, all posted without change.

"Keep up the good work, John Kerry. We need change; we've had our fill of Bush."

"You liberals will deserve everything you get if 'Hanoi' Kerry is elected. You people must be out of your minds."

"There is light at the end of the tunnel. Kerry is a breath of fresh air. A Kerry/Edwards ticket will send the cowboy back to Texas."

"Do not be hasty to vote the Democratic ticket... The moral high ground and good of the country are with the Bush/Cheney ticket."

"Lots of conservatives say they will vote for Kerry if Edwards is his running mate, but not otherwise."

"I would vote for Fred Flintstone to get Bush out of office. Now he has troops in Haiti; what's next? "

"Kerry is the right man. I hope he chooses Edwards as his running mate."

"Whether you like Bush or not, he does what he says. Kerry is the King of Flip-Flop and would make a poor president."

"If... you do not want this country to go the way of the Roman Empire, then we need a change."

"Kerry certainly isn't about real survival, not with his voting record on security issues. The Democrats chose easy, not best. "

"Bush represents only the super-rich and corporations, cutting their taxes with no regard for the harm to the country. "

"Bush is sent from God to save us from harms. He is a devout Christian who cares so deeply about his people and has to win again."

"Ralph Nader is definitely presidential material. He... has spent the greater part of his life working for the good of our nation."

5. I'd prefer: "Bush is sent from God to save us from HAMS."
My comeback for this crap is then why didn't "God" insure Bush won my a landslide in 2000 rather than lose the popular vote by 600,000 votes?

2. This speaks volumes that there could be a 50-50 split on AOL
AOL is a bastion of RW propaganda. Most of these people flamed Clinton in the worse kind of way and were all against Gore. If this report is true...Bush is in trouble.

3. Aren't AOL polls often right-leaning?
If that's the case, Kerry tying Bush is good.

7. My favorites:
"Do not be hasty to vote the Democratic ticket... The moral high ground and good of the country are with the Bush/Cheney ticket."

Moral high ground? Lie, deny you lied, repeat.

"I would vote for Fred Flintstone to get Bush out of office. Now he has troops in Haiti; what's next? "

Now, what do we have to do to get the Fred Flintstone voters?

"Whether you like Bush or not, he does what he says. Kerry is the King of Flip-Flop and would make a poor president."

Kerry flip-flops, Bush lies. And has made a poor president. 'Does what he says'? Tell it to the NYFD! Tell it to the Vets! Tell it to the millions of people who expected our president to do what he says instead of saying one thing and doing another! Flip flop, thy name is BUSH!

"Bush is sent from God to save us from harms. He is a devout Christian who cares so deeply about his people and has to win again."

This one scares me. How can they be so out of touch with thier own religion to believe that God would do this to us? Bush, a Christian? 'By your actions you shall know them'. And by his actions, he is no Christian.
