OK Here's what I'm hearing...(stop me if we've discussed this already)
Howard Stern read Al Franken's most recent book, Lying Liars.
Howard Stern then went on the air and Railed against Jr.
Clear Channel being concerned...removed Howard Stearn in important markets which are also critical swing states.

Anyone see a pattern here?

Just look at how GWB was elected. Oh, excuse me, selected!

Clear channel didn't care about Stern's potty mouth as long as he was apolitical. Once he said something bad about Bushco, they banned him for having a foul mouth... the foul mouth was the excuse, not the cause.
And doing it only in swing states is a matter of money... "Stern is popular, but he's talking against our boy, so we'll just take him off the air where he might influence things and leave him on everywhere else so we can still make money off him."
