War/Fear/Nationalism/Religion: Ready to Fight Bush's* Dirty Politics?
- The Bushies will gouge your eyes out, stab you in the back and smear your character. They'll lie, cheat, steal, use election fraud, nationalism, religion, intimidation, sexual McCarthyism, fear, war, and false patriotism to gain political advantage.

- Bush* & Company realizes they can't 'win' if they tell the truth or reveal their true agenda. The only way they can pull off a win is with the continued 'assistance' of the American media and lack of active opposition from the Democratic party.

- We know damn well it's coming. Remember what they did to Clinton? Gore? Are we prepared to fight this time around?

2. What? Are you saying that being prepared is 'doom'?
- I don't understand your type of thinking. We know that Bush* plays dirty. Very dirty. Are Democrats going to fight this time around or concede with a whimper?

4. It's difficult to pretend...
...considering that the GOP now completely controls all branches of our government.

- Why the reluctance to call Bush* on his many blatant lies? It's not as if we can't prove that he's lying. Win or lose...we should fight the good fight.

5. Why would we choose to concede with a whimper?
It's just a silly question. I think folks on DU already know that Bush and the GOP fight dirty and that Democrats and other progressives need to be prepared to fight back.

And frankly, it sounds like you're trawling for replies like "No, all Democrats are spineless, and we are dooooomed" which is self-defeating and works on my last nerve.

Of course it is legitimate to complain about a specific instance of spinelessness by a specific person or group of people who are Democrats. And I'm not advocating blind loyalty to the Democratic party. I just don't get the point of your question. "Bush fights dirty" is like saying the sky is blue around here.

6. A silly question?
- Then please tell us why the Democrats have been SO ineffective in fighting the corruption of the Bush* government?

- You make it sound as if the Democrats DON'T have a problem when it comes to countering Bush* dirty politics....which obviously includes using the media to smear Democratic politicians.

- What they're doing is not working...otherwise Bush's* dirty politics wouldn't be so effective. And like it or not...the lack of opposition by Democrats is perceived as 'spinelessness'.
