Ga Flag vote tomorrow.
For folks in Georgia tomorrow is a vote concerning the state flag. On a positive, Sonny Purdue basically weaseled his way out of putting the confederate flag to a vote. They implemented a "new" flag, to replace the one Gov Roy Barnes pushed through a couple of years ago.

The problem: I don't like Sonny Purdue, and I thought him running for office, atleast in part, on the issue of putting the confederate flag to a vote, was very low rent. I want to vote for the former "Roy Barnes Flag", in part as an FU to Sonny Purdue. However, many are suggesting that if the Barnes Flag wins, it will put the Flag issue back front and center. This will give the Pro-confederate flag people more chances to get that thing on the flag. Should I vote for the "Sonny Flag" so the issue is dropped, or should I vote the "Barnes Flag" in part to protest Sonny. Other opinions would be great...Kevin.

1. I'm in Georgia.
If the Barnes flag wins, Perdue will be Very embarrassed.

Putting the Pro-confederate people up front will embarrass Bush this Fall. He may stay away more.

I'm voting for the Barnes flag.

3. The Barnes flag is actually more distinguished & better looking IMHO
The Sonny flag looks like a banana republic flag. The Barnes flag looks like homepage.

6. I think you are right...
that if the Barnes flag wins, it will prove very embarrassing for Purdue. Have you seen any of the "Sonny Lied" posters floating around?? I work in the Conyers area off I-20. Along the interstate, people have tacked signs on the sign posts along the interstate that say "Sonny Lied" and has a picture of the confederate flag. Wouldn't it be funny when Purdue is stumping for Shrub*, to see the "Flaggers" in their rebel uniforms holding signs declaring Sonny Lied. Shrub co* won't be real pleased about that...Kevin.

2. remember his name is ALWAYS spelled like the chicken perdue
after all...we mustn't ever get his name wrong, a nice respectable party switching, backstabbing bastard like him.

He vested this decision for a nonbinding resolution in the people, and they shalln't let piggy perdue down...:spank:

5. thanks for the Perdue correction :)
Actually, that is something I else I didn't mention. The fact that it is a NONBINDIING referendum. That coward, didn't even fulfill his promise to make the flag, what the people want. He is basically saying, well, if the people agree with ME, they will get their flag...Kevin.

7. Are you calling me names?
I just moved to Ga. 3 years ago. I'm voting tomorrow for the Blue flag with the Ga. seal. It's a much better looking flag than this new version that in my opinion has no class.

I'm not concerned about the civil war, sorry, but it's been over for a LONG TIME!

I don't like Sonny either,a nd to embarass him is a good thing!!!!!!!!!!1

8. i'm voting for the barnes flag
it's a no brainer for me.

i've heard the argument, too, about how it might put the confederate flag back on the referendum... but 1) if barnes flag wins, sign of the tide turning and also not good for perdue 2) even IF the confederate flag came back up, i don't think it'd stand a CHANCE of passing anymore. businesses would leave the state.

i hope you'll vote for barnes flag, too... don't settle.

because i'm certainly not settling, that's why i'm also voting for howard dean. :-)
