how the nominee can take the moral highground over Bush
it's simple, before the 9/11 anniversary say he's suspending his campaign for one day on the anniversary, and request Bush do the same. It's a win-win scenario. Either Bush does and loses the attempt to turn memorial services into campaign rallies, or he doesn't (which I think is what would happen) and he looks like a huge chump. It'd also make the politicizing of 9/11 at the convention more obvious.

2. That's a good idea,
but,sad to say, it is us Dems that have the record of turning memorial services into campaign rallies. I doubt seriously they were planning any such thing, at least, not obviously. It would probably be something very respectful, but would leave the sheeple with the idea that * was the man to keep it from happening again.

We keep talking about how dumb Repukes are, but they keep turning our ideas against us. Maybe this year, maybe this year.

3. Can you explain that comment about dems turning memorial services...
into campaign rallies. And please, do NOT use the fully fabricated Paul Wellstone story, that has been fully disproven.

9. Coincidentally, I just started re-reading it today.

Chapter 25 is titled, "'This Was NOT A Memorial to Paul Wellstone': A Case Study in Right-Wing Lies."

15. Still, it's the
image that matters. Besides, I watched. Also, since when is Al Franken, funny as he may be, an expert??

4. Sounds like a great idea
We need to get this message out to whoever the nominee is. Bush would look like a complete ass(which he is)and it would be obvious that he is using 9/11 for his own political gain.
RE-ELECT A DEMOCRAT 2004!!!!

10. Great idea
Run no media ads and do no campaigning. Not just our nominee, but our whole party.

12. Politics 101--it's (almost) all about perceptions.
Transparent indeed, but it will knock the wind out of the opposition's sails.

What would be really nice is if we could just get everybody to shut the hell up for one day in respect and memoriam. Both parties, the spinmeisters in the media, etc.

I know--but I believe we will have world peace someday, too.
