The US just pulled off a coup in a sovereign nation within a couple hundred miles from its own borders. That's a real problem.

media will do all it can to stay away from the underlying causes.

they're doing a hell of a job right now, merely regurgitating what the wire services have said up to now, and they merely parrot what the local media (controlled, as in Venezuela, by oppo forces) puts out.

so don't look for ANY enlightenment from our news outlets, as usual.

George Will, in an uncharacteristic moment of honesty, though, DID reveal what our mission there has been (covertly) up to now: force protection.....his son was there; told him that US troops were there to protect....US troops!

course he neglected to mention the vested economic interests we've had there since 1915 or so.
