Which of the two evils would you rather have as president...
Knowing what you know now, and you had to pick one, would you rather see George W. Bush in the White House or Pat Buchanan? I know these are bad choices, but I'd rather see Buchanan, which lets me know how much more I hate Bush than I did in 2000.

3. An idiot or an idiot...
I think there are hundreds of words one could use to describe both.

2. Buchanan - less likely to wage aggressive war. Bush is the worst.
Yes, I am ABB. You presented us with two choices; at least Pat is something of a populist, and I believe we could stop him on the social issues. Not a good choice at all, but a steaming pile of dung is my choice before George Bush.

5. That's my main reason as well.
By the way, Buchanan IS a steaming pile of dung, to my estimation.

4. Buchanan!
Pat Buchanan is annoying but I'd rather have him than *.

There's something about * that I just detest. ABB

16. No contest. Buchanan.
I actually like Buchanan. Not his politics, though he is occasionally OK on some issues. But I think he has an infectious smile, is able to laugh at himself, smart, a sort of compassionate Nazi.

6. This brings to mind the Basic Laws of Human Stupidity
http://www.mentalsoup.com/mentalsoup/basic.htm

Buchanan would probably fall into the category of either a perfect bandit, or maybe even an intelligent bandit.

Bush on the other hand would either be a stupid bandit or maybe even just a stupid person (SP.)

As the fifth basic law states, A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person. With a bandit you stand a chance, and might be able to protect yourself, but with a SP there is no defense.

7. That's not much of a choice but...
I'd vote for Pat. I've already decided that I'd vote for Reagan (before he lost his mind.....well come to think of it I'm not sure he EVER had his mind)over Bush.

to be tortured by the rack or by endless beatings.

10. A Racist or a blithering Corporatist. There's not much choice when it
comes to Repugs these days. As charming as Buchanan can be at times, one wouldn't have wanted to have him in there either. He would have come with "baggage" of another kind, that might have been as "evil" as Bushes. And, who the hell knows what would have happened if 9/11 had occurred on his watch.....but then I believe it was LIHOP, so that point probably isn't valid.

12. Pat Buchanan
Pat Buchanan is anti-NAFTA, WTO, (Illegal) immigration and anti-war
I would take him over Bush anytime. I know people are going to say he is a racist because he is against (Illegal) immigration, I see it as pro American labor. Union people around here love this guy.

15. This is like...
Hitler vs. Stalin isn't it?

If I had to though, Buchanan seems a bit more sensible.
