Even Limbaugh against Bush now
I've read the posts here cheering that Howard Stern has become ABB. But did you know Limbaugh is also against this latest action of the FCC getting popular radio entertainers fired? "I'm in the free speech business, and when the government gets involved, I'm frightened," he said, according to the Druge Report. Plus he's railed against Bush on the deficit.

So not only do we have Stern getting on our side...how about RUSH LIMBAUGH (sort of)?! I'm becoming encouraged that this country could return to some level of common sense and agreement.

2. Limbaugh is still VERY pro-Bush, though...
Yes, he disagres with him on those two issues, along with the immigration bill that Bush proposed and the very un-conservative spending spree, but the day Limbaugh drops his support for Bush will be the day we get a wether report from hell saying it's 31 degrees.

4. I always thought Limbaugh was pro-Ratings.
He'll say anything to keep his listeners tuned in. He's an advertising medium in and of himself. He could sell anything to the dittoheads. He "gives" his show to radio stations for free, doesn't he?

18. If the Packers suck?
What does that say about the Bears, seeing as how they've consistently had their asses handed to them by the Packers for the last 10 plus seasons? Beginning with Don Majikowski and continuing to this day.

6. But I'm saying...
...this is the guy who for 15 years did not have ONE negative thing to say about the Republicans. The only thing I remember is that when Newt Gingrich got mad that Clinton made him get off the rear exit of Air Force One, Rush thought it was silly of Newt to have a fit. That's been his ONE anti-Republican statement EVER. Now he's got three or four beefs with Bush and he's talking about them at length.

I'm not saying Rush is forgiven or sainted, but when you're #1 ally is even badmouthing you, something is about to give.

22. Rush would always feign disagreement on trivial issues
to show his "independence". There is nothing new about this at all.

Even if Rush had an epiphany and there is no evidence of at this point, he couldn't say a thing. He is facing very serious federal criminal charges for serial withdrawals to avoid reporting requirements, assisting in tax fraud on the part of the maid and his other drug dealers, and the list goes on. There is a reason that the government has given him a pass on his crimes and Rush knows that reason well.

The most important things to remember about Rush are that he is a coward and a liar. People almost always act in character. There is absolutely no way that Rush will ever turn on the Chimp, none.

9. He is still against Dems
I do believe Limbaugh also said that if democrats get in office people with republican views will suffer. Also he has helped launch attacks against Kerry and other democrats. I think he might be trying to warn Bush that his base in beginning to lose faith in him. In the end Limbaugh will support Bush over the Democratic candidate.

10. ACLU payback

I think Rush owes the ACLU after they backed him regarding the privacy of his medical records.

Beyond this, any businessman instinctfully wants to keep ANYONE out of the private workings of their business. I guess the censoreship issue hit too close to home for Limbaugh.

We will have to see if he keeps pounding on the "liberal" Hollywood media for "indecency".

12. I've been reading this but
I listened to Limbaugh and didn't hear him say it...although I didn't listen to the whole thing. Mostly Rush rambled on about how Clear Channel has the right to fire anybody they want and how only the government can censor. If he was blaming the government he was doing it to defend Clear Channel.

14. Rush has the threat of federal prosecution hanging over his head.
He has dodged that bullet for one reason, Ashcroft wants him on the job. If Rush turns on Chimp he'll be neck deep in legal trouble.

Rush will keep reading the talking points. If he expresses an opinion on a single issue that is of no consequence to the election of the Chimp it will only be so his drones can say. "I don't agree with him on everything, there should be limits on decency."

~snip~

I guess it's possible to have never heard Stern ever over 15+ years. Stranger things have happened, i.e., it's been said Poppy Bush doesn't know where he was when JFK died.
"I haven't ever heard the Howard Stern show," frequent Stern target Rush Limbaugh told listeners Thursday, ". . . but when the federal government gets involved in this, I get a little frightened."

~snip~

his future concerns
Limbaugh asked: "If we are going to sit by and let the federal government .. get involved in this, if the government is going to 'censor' what they think is decent and indecent … what happens if a whole bunch of John Kerry, John Edwards, Bill Clinton, Terry McAulliffe types end up running this country someday again and decide that conservative opinion is indecent, decide that that causes violence?"

It's wonderful that more and more people are attacking Bush, but that doesn't necessarily make them allies.

21. You know what?
I really don't give a flying shite WHAT that walking sac of pus has to say about ANYTHING. Seriously. He could endorse John Freaking Kerry TOMORROW and I would not possibly be able to care less.

Why? Though I am a forgiving, loving, non-violent, non-hating human being, Thrush is a special case.

The FIRST thing I ever heard out of his mouth was in 1992 when he had that awful TV show. I was channel-surfing and happen to see it. Had no idea who he was. He talked about Carol Moseley-Braun being the first black woman elected to Congress. He then proceeded to sing the theme song from "The Jeffersons": "Well, hey we movin' on uuuup, to the East siiiide...." etc. My jaw hung.

A little while later, I happened to catch it again. This time was the infamous showing a picture of then 12-year old Chelsea Clinton and calling her a DOG. I thought to myself, "ANYONE who would make fun of a 12-year old girl's looks on TV because he doesn't like her dad's politics is a kind of slime that goes beyond classification."

At that point, I took note of his name and swore to never listen to a word he said again.

Someone who talks that much and is THAT hateful only gives people like us ammo to use against them. Feminazis, anyone? But God forbid if anyone who hates * uses the term "brownshirts", right? Hypocrite. He is the walking EPITOME of hypocrisy.

Make no mistake....he would have NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER with ANYONE with a viewpoint different from his being gagged permanently. No doubt.

25. Free speech is Limbaugh's bread and butter.
If the first amendment is gutted then Limbaugh is out of work. He would not survive in the British system that's for sure.

Just because he's against a provision being promoted by the FCC does not mean he finds fault with the Republican party or Bush.

33. Agreed... Rusty should be in jail...
The first time I heard the great Bag of Gas was in 1988 when he tore up Kitty Dukakis because of her alcohol problem. He wouldn't let up on her. Naturally, Mrs. Dukakis had no opportunity to answer. I remember thinking, "Goddam, what an asshole!" And since that time, the Bag of Gas hasn't lived down from it... Other examples are far too many to mention. It is clear that he broke the law and deserves punishment. Imagine if it was one of the Clintons instead of himself in this fix, he'd spend two hours a day screaming (and I mean screaming) for their heads.

I believe that the Bag of Gas is personally responsible for the bad-feelings that our political discourse has become. Things nowadays are simply personal, nasty, and jugular. The constant slamming by the Bag of Gas has greatly contributed to a division in our country. No longer can we simply disagree with R's, now its like a war zone. Even my R friends have become more and more angry.

One caller to Hannity's show not too long ago advocated for a civil war, a new civil war between R's and "Liberals." The guy was serious, taking up arms, the whole nine yards. Hannity knew better than to say, "Yeah, man! Go for it! Get those damned liberals, now!" I fear the time when the Bag of Gas, O'Really, Hannity, North, and the others simply give up what little discourse remains and simply declare "open season" on Democrats, liberals, or progressives. It all started with the Bag of Gas in 1988.

35. Porky criticizes bush* occasionally.
Pig Boy thinks bush* is not conservative enough. He is right in the respect that bush* is NOT A REAL CONSERVATIVE, and has abandoned his base.

Real Conservatives believe:

-No unnecessary involvement in foreign wars

-preserving the Constitution

-smaller Federal Government

-less government intrusion in private lives

-states rights

-balanced budgets

-lower government spending

-fiscal discipline

bush*boy doesn't do ANY of those things~!
