Family values????
What the heck does that mean when politicians begin to sprout this meaningless drivel? Quayle (an intelligent bush) ran for president based on this. So what does he mean? That every bedroom will have a cop in it? That everytime you decide to cheat on your husband/wife you have to call in?
Possibly it means that parents are the cause for the hopeless and lost children we have today, while he conventiently forgets that it is thanks to repukes and their denial of anything which could help the working person, that forces both parents to work. Of if a single parent, to have three minimum wage job.

1. Well I hope that
they put a good looking cop in my bedroom. I am tired of sleeping alone since my honey died.

2. I like Wes Clark's take on it...
I liked Wes Clark's take on the whole "Family Values" debate... In his speeches he said it's time to start valuing families and to stop using "Family Values" as a wedge issue... He talked about providing tax relief to working Americans, making health care accessible to all, providing education incentives, and getting Americans back to work... These and other iniatives he said were necessary for the creation of strong families and therfore stronger societies.

He did a good job of framing core Democratic beliefs in a manner that all Americans can accept. Other Clarkies can help with the specifics but I think that's one of the positive contributions he made to the Party and I hope we run with it.

Best,

3. I like working
You make a good point historian, but I like the idea of being able to work. I think women should be able to have their own careers. People like Bush and Quayle use family values as a way to stoke the fire of their base. They do not have any real family values. Look and Bush's brother and other republicans.
