6. Tehran Radio did claim this last year too
"In an interview with the Iranian Tehran radio, the deputy leader of the Islamic Awamy Tahrik Party the Pakistani National Islamic Movement Party , Murtaza Poyia names phonetic , has confirmed the arrest of the leader of the Al-Qa'idah network, Usamah Bin-Ladin. Quoting reliable sources, he added that Usamah Bin-Ladin is being held by the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence ISI and US troops at present.

Answering a question about why Usamah's arrest has not been announced, Murtaza Poyia said that it had been decided to announce his capture a few hours after America's attack on Iraq."

8. I'm conflicted
I guess I really am happy if they caught Bin Laden, for the 9/11 families, but I'm mad about the credit Bush will get.

27. Capturing OBL does nothing for the 9/11 families. Remember, BUSH KNEW
and did nothing about it.

That is what they are pissed about. Plus the fact that he has obstructed the investigation each step of the way.

No, capturing OBL does nothing for Bush because OBL is not the problem.

9. I am confused about how I feel
I want him captured because I don't want the soldiers to be in as much danger IF he is still masterminding any attacks.

However, I would rather he was captured AFTER Kerry (or Edwards or...) wins. After all, it is the SOLDIERS that capture him, but Bush* gets all the credit.

17. Do you think this may be a repub campagin strategy?
In other words, have other outside sources spread rumors about bin Laden capture, or being surrounded in hopes it would sway the election?

28. Nah,no help unless our fearless leader makes the collar....
Having him caught by anyone other than the good ole' USA would gain Chimpboy nothing and make him look like a bigger fool than he is. We've spent billions and can't catch one very tall Arab with a towel on his head and yet some third world and possibly "axis of eeeevill" country makes the capture.

That scenario would make Chimp look like a total fool....

if the capture were to happen long before the election, the economy and other Bush failures would be foremost in voters' minds and this a distant memory.

Pakistani army denies reports of Osama bin Laden's capture

The Pakistani military on Saturday denied a report on Tehran Radio that Osama bin Laden was captured in a border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

"That information is wrong," Pakistani Army spokesman Gen. Shaukat Sultan told The Associated Press.

24. Well, the pieces certainly add up.
Rumple's stating "We're close" the other day, along with all the other UBL talk going on.

Or we might just get a "Just missed'em" report, so as to ice the body down tell October.

Either way, I'm damn proud of our Armed Forces and glad the threat of UBL is gone (if he really was a threat.)

30. Doubtful
Osama has around $20 Million. Seems that he could afford to migrate elsewhere. I don't beleive he is a stupid person. To hang around in Afghanistan would be stupid. I could be wrong but I suspect that he left a long time ago to Asia.I will be real shocked if he is captured, ever.

Even if he was captured or killed that would not end Al Q. He is not the only planner. He would be missed but Al Q. could carry on. Capturing him would be a temporary boost to Bushco. Al Q. would probably strike real soon after his capture. I think that all this talk about him being captured, especially after two years of barely hearing his name mentioned from Shrub or any of the neo Fascist goons is mere propaganda to shore up a flagging re-selectiion campaign. As I stated above, I don't feel that he will be captured.

31. Quick question....
do you folks actually believe that OBL would allow himself to be
captured? I would think that this guy would rather die than fall
into US hands.
But anyways...I think they've had him in custody for quite sometime.

The issue is that they can't really "capture" him since the war
on "terror" would then have to "end". But of course, they're now
stating that "Al Qaeda" has spread out and that other people are now
running the show... :eyes:

Perpetual war...for oil...
