Our government is a bunch of lying dogs........Why?
We had a contract with our government that we would pay into the Social Security system and that money would be saved for future retirees. No matter that we have paid in hundreds of billions of dollars, perhaps trillions, into the system more than we have taken out, but the government has "borrowed" that money, and is so doing, has broken their promise to the people because they have no plans on paying it back. Forget about paying it back with interest - which is what they should be forced to do. They lied.

Never mind that they "borrowed" all the surplus in the Social Security fund and are now saying that there will not be enough money to pay the "Babyboomers" when they retire, they are now talking about decreasing the benefits to future retirees. Think about it. The lying assholes have the nerve to break a contract with the people and then say they are not going to pay back the money they stole, but furthermore, will decrease what they will pay in the future. Maybe it's time to hold them accountable? After all, as Rousseau said many years ago, the sovereignty is with the people. Our government has betrayed us all.

5. You are right.........we've been ripped off and
sadly, in more ways than one.

With all the corruption and mismanagement that goes on in this government, and if this country were smaller, I could easily see a revolt similar to the one in Haiti!!

6. no one likes my answer.... :(
but i still say it's cuz americans are stupid.

in this case it instatiates to the fact that americans vote based on "what have you done for me lately" grounds, rather than on the grounds of long-term value....

you can, perhaps, judge a civilization by the character of its woman. similarly you can judge americans by the people it elects to govern them. by that measure, us, americans, kinda suck....

16. Not stupid. Ignorant, yes. Why? 'Cause they've been lied to from birth.
and that would bring up a timely phrase that goes something like:
"Forgive them, for they know not what they do." Some Americans are cruel and stupid but most just don't have the right information.

If Americans had a clue what the hell their government has been doing to them and the world for the last 50 years, they would riot the way they did in 1968, the last time they got a whiff of how horrible things were. They have since been spared the burden of knowledge by their beneficent leaders. Ahem.

And since I'm proselytizing this all over du, here's my synopsis again:

Religion is the biggest arrow in the quiver of the Culture War to hijack control of the biggest weapon on the planet, the US government. Television is a close second for filling the collective American mind with manipulative fearmongering. Combined, they are a 24/7 Nuremberg rally of adrenalin and endorphins, a daily drip of red-white-and-blue indoctri-Nation-alism.

'THE CHOSEN FEW' IS BEING MORPHED INTO 'THE MASTER RACE'
THE SAME WAY 'GET OSAMA' WAS MORPHED INTO 'GET SADDAM'! GET IT?

We are living in the closing minutes of a religious culture war that the American Taliban, called Dominionists, are winning.
The US Constitution (of-by-for the people) is being gutted and replaced with the Bible (Divine Right of Kings.)

This is the basic model of this religion-fueled fascism:
Supreme Dictator Smiting Evil-doers Wrathfully Without Legal Restraints. Sound familar?
Yup. George W. Bush as the American Ayatollah.

The inflammation of the old anti-semitic, anti-homosexual, anti-abortion, and anti-porn 'passions' is cover for a very real and documented campaign to make this country into a Hitlerian theocracy fueled by fundamentalist Christian religious passions called 'Dominionism.'

It’s teachings are the opposite of those of Jesus Christ.
Wealth=virtue/Poverty=sin, Monarchy=Success/Democracy=failure. Killing=justice/Peace=danger.
It is totally Orwellian and some animals are definitely more equal than others.

'Might Makes Right' is WINNING over 'The Rule of Law.'
We are experiencing the return of Eugenics (elimination of the 'weak') in our government's policies that looks very much like the old systems of feudalism, slavery and holocaust.
Have you noticed the body-count in the last three years with no end in sight?

Georgie's brain is much worse than you think and he's being used for terrible purposes. Here's a British clinical psychologist's researched analysis of the boy king. He interviewed Georgie's family, friends and such and determined that he was abused as a child and developed an 'authoritarian personality,' the root of fascism. Read it and weep for him and us.

And this personality is being exploited to further the creation of a Hitlerian Theocracy called ‘Dominionism’, which has been going on in this country for the last thirty years. Read it and wonder what the hell we're in for next now that Eugenics is domestic policy and Imperialism is foreign policy.

If you'd like to read the full speech of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia back in the dark ages of January 2002 when he said that 'democracy interferes with the Divine Right of Kings and he's doing something about it,' read this and wonder what century we're living in and just what that Constitution was for, anyway.

Eugenics, isn’t that a little dramatic? Social conditions have not improved in the United States since 1980.
Using data from the UN and World Bank, researcher Richard Estes created an Index of Social Progress that
Takes into account health, education, human rights, political participation, population growth, the status of women, cultural diversity, ‘freedom from social chaos’, military spending, and environmental protection.
In a list that included 163 countries, the United States ranked 27th. Estes, who has researched world social development for 30 years, found the pace of social development to be "on hold" since 1980, putting the U.S. on the same level as Poland and Slovenia in the current "report card.” Yet the US ‘defense’ budget is the size of the next 15 largest in the world combined.

How can they get away with it when everyone seems to be pissed off at Georgie and we're supposed to be able to vote the bastard out of our White House? By fixing the electronic voting machines for 'the House.' Read this and decide which country to escape to this fall when Georgie is reinstalled, like a 'Manchurian Candidate' to finish the job he was sent to do-eliminate democracy, create a police state, and conquer the world as Superman Jesus in a Cowboy Hat.

LATE BREAKING NEWS-FEB. 26 2004
Right now the Dominionists are introducing legislation to replace 'The People' as the authority in our democracy’s Constitution with ‘God’ in a bill called ‘The Constitution Restoration Act of 2004,’ exactly the opposite of what it really is, just like the Patriot Act, the Help America Vote Act, the Leave No Child Behind Act, and the Clear Skies Act. The legalities of the Christian Theocracy are being used to destroy our laws as if by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

This is not a test! It is absolutely real and happening right now while the media are busy covering gay marriage and Mel Gibson’s bloody crucifixion porn film, ‘The Passion of the Christ.’

“…on February 11 , 2004 Dominionist leaders in congress made their move; they introduced a bill in both houses called The Constitution Restoration Act of 2004. Among the sponsors of the bill are Rep. Robert Aderholt (Alabama), Rep. Michael Pence (Indiana), Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama, Sen. Zell Miller (Georgia), Sen. Sam Brownback (Kansas), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (South Carolina).

The House version is H.R. 3799 and the Senate version is S. 2082. The bill limits the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts to hear cases involving “expressions of religious faith by elected or appointed officials.”

Although the claim by its sponsors appears to be that the intention is to prevent the courts from hearing cases involving the Ten Commandments or a Nativity Scene in a public setting from being reviewed, the law is drawn broadly and expressly includes the acknowledgment of God as the sovereign source of law by an official in his capacity of executing his office.”

But sometimes we search for a way to express our anger succinctly without being accused of betrayal to our country - as if George W Bush and the Repubs are symbolic of our country. When it is they that are the traitors..

9. It is your country that betrayed you

Systemically, deliberately, and has been doing so for quite some time.

It is interesting that Americans are the most reluctant to change their government, despite having the power to do so in the constitution.

13. I've been thinking about taxes and where taxes should be spent
for a long time. Although our taxes in theory are supposed to pay for the things we can't pay for alone. The temptation of all that money lying there in one place is too much for thieves to resist. We have seen the pilfering of our Treasury for decades by special interest groups and the politicians whom they bribe. The SS fund was supposed to be in a trust fund for the reason it would be kept out of the hands of unscrupulous politicians. Who broke the lock?

I'll bet some lawyers who are familiar with trust funds and who want to write a best seller could uncover who violated the terms of the trust and who the criminals are that opened Pandora's box.

14. This SS thievery makes the Enron
theft look like a dime-store hold-up. When exactly did some shifty politician decide that the Social Security Trust Fund could be looted by scribbling out an IOU. Does anyone know just how much money has been sucked out of the SS to date. This is about the last fucking straw as far as I am concerned. Where in the fuck did all that money go. Over 35 years I've been paying in. I want it back adjusted for inflation plus penalty plus interest. Just like the nice folks at the tax dept do to me when they say I missed a payment.

17. The bankrupting of SS has been the
dream of conservs for a long time. Survival of the fittest, everyone else rots, and that gives the pukes entertainment value. Imagine a country that specializes in the people. Education, Health care, Retirement, and a clean environment. If we ever return to power, these should be the goals. This is a warrior nation, preoccupied with ego and fear and death and paranoia, with guns and battleships and F-16's and B-1's and WMD's. This society is focused on the only really safe institution - the killing machine business.

18. Our government is a bunch of lying dogs because
the U.S. populice is woefully and deliberately ignorant, and doesn't call them on the lies and deception.
If a crook discovered he could rob a house in broad daylight because the police would look the other way, you could bet he'd be driving up in a moving van. Thus, with the politicians. Always testing limits. Let's pass tax cuts to benefit ourselves and see if we can get away with it. Hey, that was easy. Nobody complained. Let's do it again. Let's go to war pre-emptively and for no good reason other than to steal Iraq's oil and give big contracts to Halliburton. If anyone complains we'll tag them as "unpatriotic." That'll shut them up. Let's rob the social security trust fund and cheat people out of their hard-earned benefits. We'll lie and tell them we can't afford to give them their due. They won't complain.

People in this country have been fed so many lies and so much propaganda, they wouldn't recognize the truth if it bit them in the ass. And the majority have been so beaten down by the system anyway, that they've long since given up on trying to fight it.

Page 72 "The poor in spirit do not commit evil. Evil is not committed by people who feel uncertain about their righteousness, who question their own motives, who worry about betraying themselves. The evil of this world is committed by the spiritual fat cats, by the Pharisee's of our own day, the self-righteous who think they are without sin because they are unwilling to suffer the discomfort of significant self-examination. It is out of their failure to put themselves on trial that their evil arises. They are, in my experience remarkably greedy people."
Page 74 "Since they must deny their own badness, they must perceive others as bad. They project their own evil onto the world. The evil attack others instead of facing their own failures. Spiritual growth requires the acknowledgment of one's own need to grow. If we cannot make that acknowledgment, we have no option except to attempt to eradicate the evidence of our imperfection. Strangely enough, evil people are often destructive because they are attempting to destroy evil. The problem is that they misplace the locus of the evil. Instead of destroying others they should be destroying the sickness within themselves
