Does Laura Bush smoke in the WH?
I just reread the article on Delays' smoking problem at the Smithsonian and realized that the WH is federal property and must be subject to the same smoking restrictions.
How can we find out if she is be-spoiling one of our sacred monuments and what should be done?

1. Oh Lordie
People were smoking in the WH for over a hundred years and the walls still held firm.

2. Oh shit!
That is gooood!

However, it is technically "their home"; I would imagine she should be able to smoke in some areas...

As much as I want to nail the Bushies for stuff, I don't like screwing over smokers needlessly. (I am an ex-smoker; however I have not "turned to the dark side" and become an anti-smoker)

3. Trust me. No one is telling Laura to go outside and smoke.
Also, where did Clinton smoke the cigars that Monica didn't get hold of?

5. If Laura smokes cigs
she won't be the first secret smoker in the WH. Jackie Kennedy was a closet chain smoker too.

I guess if I had to live that life, I'd take up smoking again too.

7. So this woman goes in to see the doctor: "Doctor", she says, "I seem to
be out of breath following sex."

"Well, do you smoke afterward?" he asks...

She replies "I really don't know, I never checked..."

8. You know, I feel sorry enough for Laura that if she has to "sneak a smoke"
I'd actually give the woman a break. Can you imagine her life with the "Chimp" and the Bush Crime Family, Inc.?

If we here have been driven to distraction then pity the woman and allow her a smoke. She's not been like Dick Cheney's RW/Fundie Bitch of a wife has she? No.

Yes, her clothes are often somewhat odd and she gets dragged into stuff because we know what a farce/evil/rotten/piece of work her hubby is....but she has two hellion daughters and had the misfortune of meeting Shrub and he needed a wife. She fit the bill and we maybe should have some pity on her.

I've never heard Laura trash Dems.....but I've heard Lynn Cheney go OTT, on us.

Give her a break. She's sad. :-( (btw, I've been on many DU trash posts of her because of her clothes....so I've been a bad girl, too here.) Just saying....cut some slack.

10. I guess things can be tough when you're the Bride of Frankenstein.
I'd like to feel sorry for her, but she COULD have turned him down. She COULD have not rammed that young man and killed him head-on. She COULD have been a little more vigilant with her daughters' upbringing, especially considering there's alcoholism in the family. I'd like to feel sorry for her. I really would.

17. Geez
In hindsight, there are a lot of things in my life that I COULD have done as well. I guess some of us just aren't as psychic as you are.

16. She's been trashing Democrats plenty lately......
defending her poor little hubby against the terrible (true) things we have
been saying about him.

Sorry, no pity.

Most repressed do . They have ways of "revolting" even though most are secret about it. Smoking, prescription abuse etc.
