Three days in recent US history.
11/22/63
11/7/00
9/11/01

These days all have the same look and feel.

Why?

I am interested in hearing this groups thoughts, perceptions and reflections on this.

2. I've come to believe
that 9/11 stands well within the continuum of the shadow history of America's National Security State. Just as it could be said that Kennedy's murder marked its ascension to true power, so 9/11 could be said to be its apotheosis. The election farce demonstrated the contempt its patrons feel towards popular rule and also their confidence in their ability to thwart it.

Researcher John Judge put it this way in November 2000:

"There is another segment that is simply frustrated and wants to rip off the glove and let the iron fist show and get rid of the illusion of democracy and go ahead with the fascist program in the open. The question is, Is this actually going to further that agenda? In other words are they willing to show us what's under the petticoat in order to so discourage us because they then will still not fix it. In the same way Kennedy's assassination was a show, a demonstration, shooting him out in the open like that -- like a dog in the street -- was a very brutal way to show the nation their control. Is that perhaps what underlies this?"

September 11th, for those with eyes to see, was another peak under the petticoat. What will Americans do with that awful knowledge? Hopefully, what should have been done when it became evident to most that Kennedy was gunned down by a conspiracy which implicated branches of their own government; what should have done when the far right engineered a coup d'etat worthy of a banana republic.

4. each of those days was a blow to the gut of this Democratic Republic
each knocked the wind out of Americans .
each sucked the energy of passion from the mind
leaving us injured and ill.

King's and Malcolm X's murders also left us feeling
beaten up .
