SEETHING ANGER AT THESE POLLING COMPARISONS!!!!
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 07:05 PM by bucknaked
Folks, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton... never lead the nation through a 9/11 catastrophy!

His first term is like no other before his. To compare what has happened... a catastrophic event like September 11th, 2 wars, one that lead to the capture of one of our long-time nemesis, the photo-ops, etc to other non-eventfull 1st terms is a farce. For a guy who has had all that in his first Presidential term, and be polling in the low 50's... these delusional fools have to be shatting in their pants!

1. "never lead the nation through a 9/11 catastrophy!"...
Ummmm, it could be argued that he did no such thing either. Now, if you want to raise the issue that the former President made it to New York before Monkey boy, then I'm all for it. But, I would be one of the loudest voices to say that * hasn't led us through anything (except perhaps bog filled with BullS**t!):hippie:

2. Polling in the low 50s?
He wishes. He's polling in the high 40s. Check out http://www.pollingreport.com

6. on the average
of the 3 most recent favoribility polls (2/15/04):
Newsweek - 49%
CNN - 56%
CBS- 44%

this is an average of 49%

http://www.pollingreport.com/BushFav.htm

I'll be updating this chart later this weekend -- but he's been tracking at or just below 50% since mid-january http://radicalfringe.freeservers.com/custom2.html

if the "pattern" holds true - we should be having some "terra-lerts" or "terra-warning" on the news, or at the very least a Bin-laden video or two

I am aware that the talking-heads are mentioning efforts to capture Bin-laden -- such a capture would give bush*'s numbers a big boost.

To capture Bin-Laden NOW would not necessarily translate in higher 'approval' numbers/votes in Novmember. November is about 9 months away and other issues and concerns would be on voter's minds - like the economy and jobs.

If our troops do manage to 'capture' Bin-laden - it will be the "october surprise" - close enough to the election that would seriously hamper any in-depth news investigation surrounding the capture or an effective Democratic response

7. Bush is exactly at 50% based on an average of 8 polls.

He's going down. The capture of OBL will do nothing for him. Its just CW.

Keep it simple. Bush has seen his poll numbers rise only three times: 9/11, Iraq war, Saddam capture. The increase in his numbers for each manufactured event decreased from 33 to 12 to 4 points.

What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children--not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women--not merely peace in our time but peace for all time.

3. Great points, both. However...
Don't let the fact that this President has had more exposure during his first term, than any incumbent.

Just like them though, he's history!

5. Sure, Oklahoma counts, but WTC was between 15 and 20x worse
in terms of lives lost.

Inflate that to hundreds of times worse than OKC if you count the wars that Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to wage.:scared: :scared:
