Or post a transcript. This will be good, I'm sure. Just love that guy. Really like his body language when he's talking. Throws his whole self into it.

23. He's going on about the Iraq Invasion was Wrong! The Mushroom Cloud
which would come over the United States. How many lives will be lost before it's over...on how many doors will that knock fall before that war ends.

He's pointing out that not one of the 19 hijackers was from Iraq. But he says I've "never supported the Bush War.....the one with the "Doctrine of Pre-Emptive Strikes! Not one of our sons or daughters should have had to go to the Bush War.

Saying "No funds for war will be requested from Congress until AFTER the Election." He says a "budget of gimicks, canards, speciousness, sophistry, equivocation...." WOW!

He says Administration of Corporate CEO"s and Texas Oil Men. Their parents didn't have to choose between groceries and health care or weather they would lose their pension benefits of security benefits.

This administration has no idea of the plight of the average working American.

He's going on pointing out how "out of touch" they all are.

When this administration leaves office legacy will be and "Enormous Debt burden that way heavily on the Middle Class, diminished the safety net, but it won't matter to this President because he will know that His benefits and Corporate CEO's and Texas Oil Men are more comfortable than before.

32. how surprising that you can't spell a four-letter name correctly

Byrd has repudidiated his YOUTHFUL association with the clan.

the shit people like you still try to throw is pathetic.

BYRD railed against the Iraq War
BYRD railed against the tax cuts

you, are really not even worth responding to.

35. Ever noticed how helpful
some new members become when they think they can point out something they think is negative about the Dems? Especially on a thread where we are praising Sen. Byrd. It never ceases to amaze me. Byrd is a national treasure.

6. "He is Bush-lite"

how ridiculous. how utterly ridiculous.

Byrd has ripped into the chimp like NO ONE ELSE in the Senate.

repeatedly. savagely.

but toss the baby with the bathwater if you want

7. Bush-lite
Let's isolate Bush from all the issues and groups he uses for one reason or the other. Those issues and groups are separate. It is the manipulation of everything for clique power and the blindness or collaboration that enables the con game that must be focused on. Anyone who has not been out on the streets protesting and raving 24/7 is Bush-lite in the broad sense.

Since when did Byrd become 100% Ted Kennedy? These are the real range of honest views that must be debated if we ever get a positive working government.

14. Not Bush-Lite at All!
that's a term for triangulating Democrats who adpopt a sugar-coated GOP platform for political advantage.

Byrd is a contentious hard-core Democrat who holds some conservative traditional beliefs. Not the same things at all.

17. He hates those TAX CUTS, doesn't he?
Byrd rules the roost again.

"After the draconian spending cuts and the demise of the Social Security surplus, the President's budget proposes to borrow an additional $1.4 trillion from countries like China to pay for what? Tax cuts for the well-to-do!"

This is what we're living through, folks. How 'bout a little party unity and we save things before it's too late?

29. Amount to be borrowed from the surplus
is almost exactly equal to the cost of Bush's tax cut for the rich!

Boy, that lays bare the plan with no wiggle room, doesn't it? Steal our retirement and give it to your rich buddies, will ya? Over my dead body!! (Not that he'd mind that.)

37. Me too
Senator Byrd is eighty five years old, and beseiged with Parkinsons. Nevertheless the quintessential gentleman debator always looks dapper , neat and sharp. He is a beacon of light in the Senate. It pains me sometimes that there is no one around there listening tohim.
