Those two landslide elections were before the Iraq war. He went along with the Iraq war even though most Britains opposed it. Now it turns out Robin Cook was right and he was wrong, but he is still obstinately clinging to his Poodle status.
Blair has given the party two landslides for one thing and the party has given the leadership a lot of power which means that the party has become little more than a Tony Blair fan club. The leadership of the party brooks NO dissent and the party's MP's are for the most part Blairite androids who would vote for the execution of the first born if Blair told them to.
Why has all this come to pass? After 18 years in opposition the party wanted power at any cost and Blair gave them that. The downside has been that the Labour party has lost its purpose, principles and its soul in the proccess.
