What Dubya is hiding!
This is not about conspiracy theories. It's about reasonable suspicion when people in government refuse to divulge information and refuse to testify under oath before a Commission.

Imaging what would have happened if Clinton or Gore had done what Bush and Cheney are pulling. Aaron Brown didn't scream about the fact that both Bush and Cheney have refused to testify before the 9/11 Commission as a whole...and will answer questions in front of the Chairman ONLY - and then, only for ONE HOUR! Condy Rice has refused to testify under oath and will not testify publicly, - only behind closed doors. When else in history would this have been tolerated? Never, ever, ever!

If you want to understand what's being hidden, understand the questions that have been raised. They are reasonable. They are disturbing, and they will be forever hidden from us. So, what else is new?

1. They learned from Clinton...

You can get away with lying, you can get away with lying to committee, you can get away with evasion... but it's tough to get away with lying under oath. They KNOW they would have to lie their collective heads off, so they're taking "The Fifth."

They probably know they couldn't even do it with a straight face.

They are just human filth.

3. Clinton didn't lie under oath
He was a Rhodes Scholar for cryin' out loud. He knew exactly how NOT to lie under oath.

Lincoln once refused to testify before Congress and submitted a letter to be read into the record instead.

2. The question is: what isn't he hiding?
Considering that he has proven himself to be a pathological liar, that is, lying just for fun, I don't think there is one thing that is on the level with his maladministration.

4. The question is: where is the outrage?
There seems to be a complacency among the media ..and inevitably among the public - that it's okay for Bush, Cheney, and Condy NOT to have to testify about 9/11.

Remember that every one of the 'reporters' confronted any accusations of complicity or lying by Bush - with the usual "Are you suggesting that the pResident would LIE about 9'11? Are you suggesting he had something to do with it?" Any questions were accompainied with accusations of being unpatriotic and of betraying the nation. Shades of Hanoi Jane!

Bottom line: there is no outrage. People don't give a damn. Life goes on. Saddam is out of office. Yay! Now we're all safe. What a crock!

5. Many people DO give a damn = 1500 in KC
How would you explain this veracity?

Ellen Mariani and Phil Berg spoke with several packed venues in Kansas City on Sunday Feb, 22. About 1500 residents heard them speak directly. They were also interviewed live on the three main TV stations, and two local radio stations, so thousands of area citizens also heard that message.

Here is a short article about their Kansas City visit, with three photographs of Mariani/Berg:

7. "Many" is a relative term....
Of course there are people who care. But that's the exception, not the rule. There'a complacency that's painful and horrific in this country. Days of coverage of the Mel Gibson film. Days of discussion - with great passion and intensity of gay marriage. That's the norm. I'm so glad there folks like those in your article. Bless them. But they don't represent the norm, and they sure as heck don't represent the media as a whole....that cover up for Bush, and minimize the secrecy that has characterized this administration. Thanks for sharing this. It renewe a bit of faith.

8. it's just under the surface,
people feel either helpless or afraid to speak out. The sense I have been getting in the last few months is that the public tide has turned.

Just because the media puts the numbing pablum out there does not guarantee that ia majority is watching it.

imo, a majority of mainstream and reasonable people finally see through the adminstration's bullshit smokescreens.

6. Bush cannot give a straight answer
I've had to listen to him go on and on when a simple "yes" would do nicely. It's earning the White House a subpoena from the Senate intelligence committee.

9. Not a word in the morning media!
Nothing. NY Times is blank on what should be a front page article... There is an OpEd asking why the press hasn't learned more about Bush's missing Guard years. At least that... but this is far more serious and getting no media attention or inquiry. Duh!
