2. It's bogus
It gave me a 58% or barely Dixie. I am appalled. As far as I'm concerned, the War of Southern Treason will live on being called that so long as I draw breath.

I'm a damn Yankee, regardless of what a web application has to say.

8. A Different Tack...
I have not taken the quiz yet, however. I was born and raised in Charleston, SC and have lived in Boston for 18 years. My motto....Southerner by Birth, Yankee by Choice. Oh, and it was The War of Northern Agression.

83% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors? That was the result. And yes, I do have many Confederate ancestors and many Yankee ancestors.

29. 76% (Dixie).
Despite my drinking soda and taking the route (like clout) to school.

Wow, I never even thought about these differences! The only ones that I had ever thought of were soda (vs. pop) and the various forms of y'all.

The proper term is either "Southerner" or "Rebel".

100% from the South, BTW.

a few "southern" and "westernisms" have crept into my vocabulary over the years out of NE---I'm barely a Yankee.

This is very distressing. After all, I'm not only born Yankee but my ancestors invented the "Yankee" in 1620.

Crazy internet crap: Born Yankee, will die Yankee.

I only got 61% and other than 3 years in North Carolina, I've lived my entire life in South Carolina. How is that possible? Must be the influence of those damned yankees. . . God bless 'em!

22. what crap!
How could I, who was born in New Hampshire, grew up in Maine, went to school in Mass and has only even BEEN to the south a few times be considered 100% Dixie?

I had two answers that were "slightly" biased toward the south and three that were heavily biased toward New England. This thing computes like my cat! I call 'em sneakers! I call it a bubbler for god's sake!

And why the hell wasn't there the appropriate answer for addressing a group: "you".

Grrr.

Born and raised in Alabama and Georgia so what do ya expect? Interesting side note I do customer service for a credit card and most northern callers are surprised when I tell them I'm in the deep south. Evidently I have no accent cept for the ya'll thing.

Must be because I'm a Mets fan. I've lived in the NY metro area all my life and the only trips I've made south of the Mason-Dixon line have been to relatives in Florida...the parts of Florida that are like Long Island with palm trees.

40. Makes no sense at all -- says I'm 63% Dixie
I'm a pure New York City girl, who's never lived anywhere south of eastern Pennsylvania. And when I look at the test on an answer by answer basis, most of them are scored as either northeast or nationwide. Did it mark me as southern just because I say pa-jah-mas? Weird.
