think of all the boiling hateful homophobic rhetoric the far right is spewing now. it's not too hard to imagine that reaching a breaking point in some part of the country, and another Matthew Shepard case happening. This scares me big time. But if it did happen, would the fundies shut up? Or would they keep doing their hate-spewing and pretend that that had nothing to do with it? Would people continue to argue that trying to write discrimination against a group of people into the Constitution has nothing to do with any violence toward them? Unfortunately, I don't think they would. Our nation has a lot to learn.

but do you not know that Matt Shepard was a posterboy the media chose? He is one of many hate crimes of the like. You MUST understand that he is not the only one to have suffered and died. This hateful backlash Bushie is backing is going to set off all sorts of cruel tortures for gay people.

Don't get me wrong...the day that lovely soul named Matt Shepard died was a grueling one for me and many others. I had freinds that drove to Wyoming and attended Matt's funeral. I got to meet Matt's mother, and shake her hand. Ask her...her baby is not the only one to have been killed so shamelessly.
