new worry: What will a mortally wounded Bush do?
I just realized today that Bushco is probably gonna go down in flames.

But then I realized: If they KNOW they're going down, what kind of damage will they do, just out of spite, while they're still in power?

This could get REALLY REALLY ugly.

I mean, they could nuke somebody.

1. I doubt it.
He'll probably make one embarassing flub after another.

Look out though, he might puke on somebody.

6. You guys are OPTOMISTS.
First, I think if he can't win, he'll steal it. It worked before, didn't it? Nobody has arrest him for AWOL, no one has charged him for lying about WMD's.

Worst Case...Chaos. If they don't print the article I just wrote, I'll put it in GD sometime next week.

7. I think the bogus Frist/ricin mailing could be a sign of things to come.
Fear-mongering will certainly be the order of the day, but how far will they go? Operation Northwoods: 2004? It's possible. I suppose we'll see.

10. It was a plan put together by the Joint Chiefs in the 60's
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 02:07 PM by Cat Atomic
to wage a terrorist campaign against American citizens in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. Essentially, they were going to murder Americans and blame it on Cuban infiltrators. There's no evidence that the plan was ever put into action, but it was on the table.

It sounds like tinfoil hat stuff, but it's existence is verified by documents released under the Freedom of Information Act.

It is all documented in James Bamford's excellent book, "Body Of Secrets" I can vouch for it's accuracy on many counts.

"Operation Northwoods: 2004" may already have taken place...

9. They may not realize it
These people make your regular arrogant assholes look humble by comparison. They seem to believe their own propaganda. The longer it takes for them to realize that they're going down, the more mistakes they will make.

This anti-gay constitutional amendment is not necessarily a sign of desperation. They know they have to pander to their base at some point to get them energized for the election. This proposal is a cynical as most of their other "initiatives" they know it has no chance of ever happening, but in the short term its politically useful to them. They haven't noticed that no-one was fooled by the equally cynical proposal to invade the Moon for instance.

11. Not so sure he will loose.
He has the Supreme Court. He has Diabolt. He can steal the election again...If possible he will...With the like of KEvin Phillips turning on him what if the polls are so bad. Would he still steal it, if everone thought it stolen.
In the end the press will mostly back Dubya. They will not publish his stealing of an election.Economy remains in the tank, can the press cover up for him..Will the press' special interest -ie Viacom, etc.- be more important than an economy on verge of rack and ruin.Ultimately, that even effects the special interests?
I say Dubya will start another war, find bin Laden, maybe stage another 9-11... The recent changes of the likes of O'Reilly and Viacom's donations to Kerry, makes me think the powerful interests might abandon Dubya.

finding Osama.....I think they've had him for a ehilr now, just waiting for the right time.

Joining another war..........maybe Hati, maybe North Korea,

Somehow, I expect the usual scumbag attacks on Kerry like we've seen already about the aborted baby, or something against Edwards. I can only assuem he defended cases that could be construed as being strongly against the corps. I don't know anything about Edwards' cases or who he defended, but I do know there are lots of cases out there that were really stupid! I worked for s few companies who were sued for nothing but people being stupid!

I still think GW is being used by the Evangelical rebornes. It's them that will try to do the off the wall stuff.

37. interesting. That's what I'm worried about
I'm talking about if they realize they're gonna be arrested, jailed, etc, for their crimes.

If they get to the point where they have nothing to lose .......

Why wouldn't they declare martial law, start another war, nuke somebody, etc.

38. Holy Shit!
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 10:04 PM by Mari333

Section 3:
This plan could be implemented under any of the following situation:

(1) Spontaneous civil disturbances which involve large numbers of persons and/or which continue for a considerable period of time, may exceed the capacity of local civil law enforcement agencies to suppress. Although this type of activity can arise without warning as a result of sudden, unanticipated popular unrest (past riots), it may also result from more prolonged dissidence.

This would most likely be an outgrowth of serious social, political or economic issues which divide segments of the American population. Such factionalism could manifest itself through repeated demonstrations, protest marches and other forms of legitimate opposition but which would have the potential for erupting into spontaneous violence with little or no warning.

29. they dont do anything for spite
every move they make is for power or money

i think they will do 3 things if they know they are not going to be reselected

1 - steal as much money thru their corporations as possible

2 - set up the next president with large problems (lots of this is already done)

3 - begin the destruction of the democratic president, like they did with bill clinton

33. My worst case guess:
Try to declare martial law and precipitate a Civil War.

I say "try" becuase they would not get the full backing of the military, since most military officers have high respect for the Constitition. But they would get enough backing, augmented by College Republicans and other assorted brownshirts, that the country would quickly divide along a "red/blue" line that would very closely resemble the Missouri Compromise borders.

And like last time, we will crush them, Europe will get rich on profiteering, and I will have to fight my brother-in-law. Sad times.

39. According to Mel Gibson, He'll do funny things with his eyes.
"Zeffirelli recalls Gibson saying: "A wounded animal about to die does not stay with a fixed look, but rolls its eyes in the final spasms, first together, then in the opposite direction, like a cross eyed person. It's almost funny."
