Israel Siezes Millions from Banks (covers video cameras w/plastic)

JERUSALEM - Israeli forces raided Arab banks Wednesday in Ramallah, in the West Bank, seizing millions of dollars representing hundreds of institutional and personal accounts that Israel said were financing Palestinian terrorism.

It was by far the largest such seizure during more than three years of conflict. Witnesses said soldiers covered the banks' security cameras with black plastic bags and herded all the employees together before ordering workers with keys to open the vaults

In Washington, the State Department criticized the raid. ``Some of these actions that were taken risk destabilizing the Palestinian banking system,'' said Richard Boucher, the department's press secretary. ``We'd prefer to see Israeli coordination with the Palestinian financial authorities.''

Am I missing something, or does this not sound like your standard criminal bank robbery?

1. Well, building a really big wall can get pretty expensive.

2. Ya know, you could be right
and the wall will protect Palestinians as well!! They are probably just sharing the cost, in their own way.

Another kind of terror: Israel grapples with murderous gang wars and corruption
BEIRUT: Three Israelis were killed and more than 30 wounded on Dec. 11 by a lunchtime bomb explosion at a moneychanger’s office in a seedy district of south Tel Aviv notorious for its prostitutes and illegal gambling dens. But it wasn’t an attack by Palestinian militants. For ordinary Israelis, this was another kind of terror a war in the streets of unprecedented ferocity between the country’s organized crime families who commentators say now control much of the political system.
