Corporations Stink, PNY in this Case, the Memory Company
I've been upgrading my computer for years now, the bus is PC-100, but I've used PC-133 and it's always worked. Picked up a PNY memory, and it said over 1 GHz processor, but I thought I could install it in my mom's computer if it didn't work on mine. Sent the rebate off, it was due the next day, and now come to find out it's not compatable, even on my mother's computer. It just reboots repeatedly, oddly it worked better on my K6-2 AMD, where it would stay on for a while, then reboot.

I thought it was my power supply for a while, but after I dropped back to 320 MB it worked fine. Called the company, and after voice-mail hell, and talking to a regular guy, he boosted me up to the manager, who was equally unhelpful. I told him the computer even had PC-133 in it, but he was fairly unbending, saying he would call me back. I just wanted to mail it in to him, and have him send me back the proper memory.

So, unless they make some kind of gesture (at least they should have explicitly stated this on the memory, but I think they are intent on duping people into having a slab of plasic and circuitry that is useless) I'll never buy anything from them again. Corporations can be so slimy, I'm hoping he will do something, but I don't expect anything.

No PNY, no PNY, use Crucial, Kingston, or other brands, and remember, for some reason they have made this change in what is nearing an obsolete memory chip anyway, go figure.
