House headcount on the FMA
Edited on Wed Feb-25-04 05:48 PM by ButterflyBlood
here's the companion thread. We have the 112 cosponsors to know who's for it. We can add Dreier against it. I won't ever trust Tom DeLay to be in favor of anything decent so I'll take his words against it with a grain of salt.

now for the breakdown in my state so far:

for:

Gutknecht
Peterson
Kennedy
(all cosponsors)

against:

McCollum (http://www.house.gov/mccollum/pr_022404_gaymarriage.html)

no statement:

Sabo (voted against DOMA, almost certainly against)
Oberstar
Ramstad
Kline

1. Michaud (D-ME) and Allen (D-ME) both against!
Edited on Wed Feb-25-04 05:40 PM by Maine-i-acs
Add them to the Nay column. (Portland Press Herald, 2/25/04)

Along with Olympia Snowe (R-ME) that leaves 75% of Maine's contingent against the amendment, with Susan Collins (R) awaiting her command from the Cabal to see if it outweighs her conscience and the will of her constituency...

Looks like there is a very good chance of stopping it in the Senate, so how about the house?

14. Checking in on Issa and Cunningham (of California)
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 01:45 PM by knight_of_the_star
Although I think I know which way they will go on this, it could be made into a campaign issue if done right.

ON EDIT: Cunningham is a co-sponsor, Issa supports it.

or, should I save the time and trouble and just announce that if they aren't for it today, its only because they haven't formally announced it?

23. As for my Congressman...
back in 2000, he voted against gay adoptions in DC. I think its a very good chance he'' support the amendment.
