We need to let Congress know that this extension is crucial especially to our national security and to
the families of 9/11. This nothing more than just cover ups and secrecies. Contact your congressman now!!

14. People can believe the craziest things to safeguard precious illusions.
I've seen it here. Statements like, "I don't care what you say, I will NEVER believe the US government could do something so evil." To raise 9/11 complicity issues with some Americans is to see a door slam shut on their willingness to receive and process information. It's a faith issue for them. The hell with the evidence and White House stonewalling. Regardless of what they think of Bush, they can't allow themselves to consider that a US government could be capable of conspiring in the deaths of innocent Americans for strategic gain.

13. I just called
I told her that it is a despicable act and he's putting his party ahead of his country and that the entire GOP will find out how despicable the country thinks it is.

Then she asked what city and state I was calling from and I had to say New York.

You should come up with a city from his home state if you call.

This has me so mad I think I'm gonna explode. :nuke:

15. Take action now!
This is breaking news. We're doing a good job making the phone calls immediately. We have to call Hastert then call our own reps and senators. Then we have to make sure our friends and family know about this and that the media covers it as well.

This is the last straw!

Thanks to graphixtech for posting this in LBN.

Ellen Mariani and Phil Berg spoke with packed venues in Kansas City on Sunday Feb. 22 About 1500 residents heard them speak directly. They were also interviewed live on the three main TV stations, and two local radio stations.

We need to make the stonewalling a focal point of our movement to fire these bastards and keep them out of politics forever. Why are they hiding from this? Is it because the truth is darker than anything we could ever imagine?

25. gladly, happily done
my letter:

Representative Hastert:

I am astounded that you would even consider refusing an extension of the 9/11 panel's deadline. This was the single biggest National Security failure in American history, and you not only allow the National Security Advisor (and the President and Vice President as well) to avoid testifying, but you won't even give this panel the time it needs to finish its work? What possible reason can justify this?

I thought you were concerned for the safety of the American people. I thought you would want to know every possible thing there is to know about what happened on that dreadful day. I thought you would want to do everything humanly possible to make sure this never, ever, happens again. Yet you give a free pass to the very officials who were in charge of our security on that day, and you deliberately refuse a crucial extension that the panel itself says it needs. Why? What is the harm in granting them a mere 60 days? Why wouldn't you want them to complete the job that they were commissioned to do? Why wouldn't you want the the panel to complete the remaining interviews? Why wouldn't you want the remaining documents examined?

What are you afraid of?

There are many Americans, Rep. Hastert, who feel they know all too well the answers to these questions.

I urge you, sir, to do the honorable thing in this matter. It is not too late to redeem yourself.

28. BIGGEST STORY OF THE DAY
Right here...We MUST spread this around and try and get people, for a moment, to unfocus from the Passion and attempted constitutional bigotry and realize that the administration, through Hastert, is trying to bury the 9/11 commission!

Let's get to work :)

29. I called and balled out the person on the phone.
I told her I was calling from NYC. Down the street from the WTC and that some beurocrat from IL shouldn't be shutting down investigations. She said that I should call my rep. I said that my rep supports it and hers is the one causing the problem. Then I went into some fat politician from IL doesn't care to find the truth about the 3000 people that died. I got her good.

31. LOL That's beautiful!
I got all worked up when I called Hastert's office too. When she asked me where I was from and I told her I was from NYC I worried that it wouldn't mean anything to them but now I think that it should mean a lot. This is where it happened. I watched those towers fall from my kitchen window and I'll never forget the smell. Damn right I'm from New York City!

I also called my own rep and got a very nice girl on the phone who took all of my info down along with my name and address.

Tomorrow it's Hillary and Chuck!

:)

36. Do you have family or friends in New York?
That counts. Not like being an actual constituent yourself, but it'd give them a reason not to just blow you off, considering the people in his/her district with whom you could have some influence. And you could say THAT, too.

It's just BEYOND important that we call these people, and call them ON IT.

EVEN if it's NOT YOUR OWN Congress-critter. EVEN if it's a republi-CON or an invertebrate Dem. EVEN IF. They STILL need to know this is NOT good, and noted and NOT appreciated. They ALL (EVERY member of Congress) have to whore for votes in November, because they're up for reelection EVERY TWO YEARS. So they ignore you at their peril. Yes, unemployment can affect a Congress-critter, too...
