The Official Anthem of the Gay Marriage Issue
By the power invested in me as a concerned gay man, confident in the power of Americans to recognize the truth when they see it and then dance to the music, I hereby declare the official anthem of the gay marriage issue to be...

Hand to Hold Onto

Everyone needs a hand to hold on to
Everyone needs a hand to hold on to
Don't need to be no strong hand
Don't need to be no rich hand
Everyone just needs a hand to hold on to

Furthermore, I command the presence of John Mellencamp front and center at the Democratic national convention to sing this very song on stage, because it would be bitchin'.

Come on, sing with me - you know you want to...

Having good luck with your financial situation
Play the ponies, be president of the United Nations
Go to work and be a Hollywood stud
Drive your four wheel drive right into the mud

Everyone needs a hand to hold on to
Everyone needs a hand to hold on to
Don't need to be no strong hand
Don't need to be no rich hand
Everyone just needs a hand to hold on to

All those in favor, say Aye.

1. This issue...
shouldn't even be addressed at the Convention. It's a tactic by the Bush Regime to distract the public from the fact that no one has a job and everyone hates us.

2. It sure will be at the Republican convention...
Rick "Man on dog sex, anyone" Santorum will, I predict, be given a prominent time slot at the GOP love fest in NYC this September to stoke that good ol' homophobia during the convention.

5. That's fine if the GOP wants to talk about it
We should prefer to talk about creating jobs and Bush's well-rounded incompetence instead.

3. Oh, a fella can dream, can't he?
Sometimes I prefer the "So?" approach. The "Yeah? What about it?" approach. The "You say that like it's a bad thing" approach.

More people are on our side than we realize.

Realize.
