Great news! My sister has turned back from the dark side!

Over the Christmas holidays a year and a half ago, my sister claimed that George Bush had to be a good man because, and I quote "Laura Bush is a good person and she would never marry a bad man."

This was the most asinine statement I had ever heard from anyone, let alone my own sister. Where do you even begin to argue with such complete and total ignorance? After a few testy e-mail exchanges, I gave up.

Well, last night I received an e-mail from her with the subject line "OK, you were right." In it she said she would never vote for Bush. What tipped it for her? Bush's endorsement of the anti-gay marriage amendment. My sister is not gay but is involved with the theater and has a lot of gay friends.

So I just want to say, for the first and last time, thank you, George W. Bush, for showing my sister the light!

Let's hope some more people see the light because of this ludicrous stealing of civil rights he plans to add to the Constitution.

Let's all hope that it never gets that far, or if it does, that it dies a death much like Prohibition.
