7. Texas has the right to do so, by terms of its acquisition
Of course, they've already done it once, so I don't know if it's still intact. When the Texas Republic negotiated to be part of the country, they also had a provision put in that they could divide into as many as five states if they so chose. I also don't know if that's still in place, but it sure as hell could mess things up if it is and gets exercised.

12. latest news from the honest-to-whatever, current Republic of Texas...
http://www.republic-of-texas.org/news.htm

<snip...>
Harassment of Republic of Texas Citizen Continues

Republic of Texas citizen, Emmett Enlow, has been arrested again by agents of Dallas County. Utilizing the citizen identification card stolen from Mr. Enlow during his arrest on Friday, Dallas County agents have charged Mr. Enlow with "impersonating an officer." According to reports, Mr. Enlow is being held in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center awaiting a meeting with one of the occupiers who is impersonating a judge.

...This harassment must cease. Efforts to secure Mr. Enlow's release are being coordinated through the offices of the Consul General and the President. I urge everyone to do the following:

1) Call the Lew Sterrett Justice Center at (214)653-2931 and tell them: "I am a citizen of the Republic of Texas and I am calling to demand the release of our citizen, Emmett Enlow. Barring this I demand that he be classified as a political prisoner and treated under the international standards for political prisoners."

Just for starters.

Let's go. Who's ready? I know Ron Paul is. Seems like I've read something about Utah and Cascadia. Seceding is not out of the realm of possibilities, just going to be alot of trouble to make happen, but then who knows? Allen G said today that mortgage debt is a potential problem. We've been reading about this very issue for 2 years. Now he says it might be an area of concern. Too late, too bad, so sad.

Time to BAIL! Fast and Soon. Get rid of the Fed Reserve, The IMF and WTO, NAFTA, etc. Along with the CFR and so on and so forth. Okay, going to get my tin foil hat and wallpaper now, sorry.

14. Not Louisiana. Everyone's hung-over from Mardi Gras.
Other than the fact that we get federal dollars and pay US income tax, we're only contiguously a part of the US, anyway. And we'll probably be too busy either cooking, eating, or talking about our next pot o' crawdads, as they are about to come into season...

just kidding.

I think the most likely state would be Hawaii. It has an actual independence movement. I don't think it's likely to happen, but it probably has the highest likelihood of any state.

They were a sovern nation until the sugar barons cried WOLF and the U.S. came to their rescue.
Statehood for profits of the few...has such a nice ring to it, eh wot?
And being from the Pacific Northwest (Springfield, OR) I think WA. OR.
And B.C. should be a separate country. Or WA. and OR. should vote to become part of Canada.
The feds don't really care about the P.N. anyway.

Hey a guy can dream, right?

At least, I think we SHOULD secede. Most of the country has determined that we're not really Americans anyway.
