This is what I think that Carl Rove was banking on.
Let's be clear here, Everyone in the white house and everywhere else for that matter knew that George and Co. was full of crap over WMD. They used it anyway as an excuse to plunder Iraq's oil. They knew damn well that Iraq had no WMD but were banking on staging a phony liberation act, starting with the tearing down of Saddam's paintings and statues.

They have enjoyed such great control over the media that they thought that they could just make us all forget about those damn WMD, "Look we freed these people", meanwhile big oil and defense contractors are raping the American and Iraqi people all at once. They really thought that we would just GET OVER IT. And in fact, still expect us to.

The level that the media has elevated this traitorous Admin, has given them the sense that they are above the law. They really thought that they could get away with all of these murderous lies. And the only reason why they still have any modest support is strictly due to the republican media who has been an accomplice to this crooked Administrations treacheries. But now, not even they can ignore the fact that this Emperor wears no clothes

Now we all know why Fleisher quit, these guys saw this coming months ago. "Mr. Fleischer, Your boss lied and thousands of innocent people died, what do you have to say to this accusation? Also, I have a follow up question, If you are lying now, would that also make you an accomplice to the murder of thousands of innocent people"?

Bush lied and innocence died. And all the fucking asshole can say is "Bring em on". He even got Tommy Franks to say it in a pitiful attempt to once again cover Bush's ass, Jeezus Tommy you left in such disgrace.

Bush is not only a pathological liar, but he is also a murderer. Every day, every death lays on his shoulders alone. How many more kids did you kill today Bush, how many more? Shame, Shame!!!!!!!!!

2. They were banking
on staging the freeing of the Iraqi's by putting the imbedded reporters in with the troops so that they can get good footage of the Statues coming down, which was truly staged.

They knew that WMD were not there but they thought that they had a tight enough grip on the media that they could control the spin, which they have, up until now. Now we see the spin.

3. that's yet another thing that's potentially damaging to Bush
Rove's inappropriate role in the war. We know Karen Hughes was over in Qatar.

I suspect that the Jessica Lynch coverup is about this, to keep Rove's involvement secret. Who was it that was asking for an investigation of this, was it Waxman?

4. That's right,
Karen Hughes went down to Cent Com when the Quagmire word started flying and BAM, the statues start coming down, Jessica Lynch turns into a heroin, and Bushie lands on a carrier and says he won.

Meanwhile 20 year olds are being killed everyday for the Bush oil cabal.

11. I think I was wrong about that
I can't find anything about her being there, I don't know where I got that from.

But... She was involved in propaganda during the war from Washington, and it was pretty secretive that she was back there, considering all the hoo hah about her going back to Texas.

13. I vividly recall
CNN at the time stating that she was there visiting in Qatar and Cent Com in Kuwait, while we were "winning the war".

7. Bush didn't just kill women and kids
He burned them alive and dismembered them with his cluster bombs. He is truly a psychopath.

9. I didn't know Hughes was there either
No wonder things were so juvenile in the planning. She habitually works the WH as if she's nannying a girl scout troop. Silly titles, corny strategy, etc.

8. Arrogance
That is the key weakness of this adminstration. Whether this scandal is the one that does Bush in remains to be seen. However, I do think that this administration's key flaw is its arrogance.

On the TV show "Sisters", when Georgie Witzig sleeps with her therapist Dr. Caspian, he uses her and then drops her after sex. His breach of ethics causes strains in Georgie's marriage.

Then one of her sisters gets an idea. She says that sometimes "the most invinviclbe people are often the most vulnerable". Anyway one of her sisters decides to get a tape recorder and catches Dr. Caspian.

In that vein I think Bush et al suffer from terminal arrogance and it will have the potential to bring them down.

10. pretty hard to put that any better, comrade
because you are clearly a comsymp, right?

that's what they'll be calling the likes of us, who dare contravene the word from above, which dictates the holy nature of this crusade against Osama, er, Sadama, er Hussein

can you say "impeach?"

unfortunately, I envision a scene very similar to 1972-74: bush wins election w/cooperation of largely indolent/somnolent media, but pressures build up past the point of ignoring (real, live witnesses), and perhaps an impeachment attempt (failing to convict, as did clinton's kangaroos.......unLESS the momentum builds past the point even the pugs can keep the lid on, and even the Goldwaters and Hugh Scotts have to give it up.)

speaking of Goldwater, where would he fit on today's wingnut spectrum?

middle to left-leaning republican, when compared to DeLay, Hayworth, Hatch, Lott, Frist, creeps like that

12. Goldwater voted for Clinton
so, I don't guess he'd be invited to those parties.

15. a win win situation....
for those who have grown to loathe a country that even marginally supported a bunch of goofs like bushwaco and see bush's continiued success as having a 'downside' so spectacularly hurtful to neocons etc that, if the choice was 1) to have dems come in clean up the mess (and mediawhores meanwhile saying boohoohoo!) or 2) have bushwaco take its followers right down into the abyss (and see the mediawhores' cheers dying on their lips with their kids' futures) (??)...
that's a hard one.
