1. Wow, Newsome is great
I think that this should really give the Greens some pause. If a Green had been elected he would have never had the political support that he needed in Cali to pull this off. I am so glad the he is standing up to Arnold, and I hope that he runs for Governor.

2. newsome is a hottie
Well spoken ... gorgeous ... wife's a gorgeous attorney and legal analyst ...

Hmmm ... could be president someday if he doesn't say or do something monumentally stupid and he keeps his wick dry. He and Kimberly could be the Jack and Jackie for the 21st century.

But I keep reading that he's a conservative Democrat (seems pretty liberal to me, but I don't know much about him). Some people out there call him a DINO (though it may be sour-grape Greens) -- also, it's been rumored he contributed to Bush's campaign in 2000. Don't know if it's true.

3. he was great!
This is a repeat of Larry Kind at 9 PM EST

Why did he have to invite a religious fundy in this panel? Cant we talk about this issue without those nuts?

4. I think he got the GOP endorsement
but in San Fransisco that's not saying much, becuase the GOP makes up about 10% of voters and they usually endorse the most conservative candidate in the race, which may well be a Liberal. Newsom is as liberal as any mainstreme California liberal. Him and Gonzalez agreed on a lot of issues, but as is the talent of the Greens, they were able to exacerbate a few differences and make Newsom seem like a fascist Republican stooge while Newsom's camp tried to paint Gonzalez as an anti-business socialist. It was rather nasty, if you ask me.

But Newsom's principled stand on the issue of gay marriage gives hope to us everywhere. I'm very happy he was elected mayor now.
