NAMING CEREMONY FRIDAY, FEB. 27 - Former Army private Jessica Lynch will "officially" name Carnival Miracle in dockside ceremonies at 2 p.m. Lynch will break the traditional bottle of champagne across the ship's bow. This is an invitation-only event.

She also probably got free passes. Cool. I love cruising.

*hehe...thanks guys :-)

5. Why do you write an asterisk after her name?
Is it to associate her with Bush?

My impression was that the * after Bush's name is a reference to Roger Maris' 61* homerun record- the * was added to imply that it was not the same at Babe Ruth's record because the season was longer. To me it implies a kind of handicapping- a footnote to a great achievement which diminishes it. Is it your intention to diminish her service?

Are you implying that Private Lynch didn't do her job for her country as well as all the other soldiers who didn't happen to be dragged center stage and used for propaganda purposes by the Bushes?

I'm sorry if I seem to be jumping on a minor point, but I get really really sick of all the "Private Jessica" shit. The degree of disrespect aimed at this young woman (which would never in a million year be aimed at a male soldier who went through the same thing) really gets my goat.

6. I put the * after Lynch because before I edited my original
post I spelled Lynch as Lunch. At the end of the post, I added "*hehe, Thanks guys". Because they were making fun of my typo thus prompted me to correct it. Btw, I admire Private Lynch.

7. If you don't remove it, you'll get the same question 50 times...
I was about to ask it.
