I just g ot a note on my windshield.
Something to the effect that (I threw it away):

You give democratc a bad name.

Your hatred for this country by shown by your bumper stickers will win no new votes for the democrat party.

etc.

In addition to the DU bumpersticker, I have the following:

"You don't have to like bush to love America" next to an American Flag sticker (upside down to show the distress we've been in).

"BUllSHit"

"Create Random Acts of Kindness and Senselss Beauty"

"Another Bush Another Recession"

For every message I receive, I will make another donation to DU or other democratic party organization or candidate, plus, I will add one new bumper sticker for each infraction.

I just donated $35 to DU.

Tomorrow a larger sticker goes on my rear windshield that will say:

bush* LIED THOUSANDS DIED
HE'S STILL LYING

All these are on my '88 Chevy - a "beeter" - so there is not much they can do to it - by convertible is safely in my garage.

I'm pissed, and getting angrier with every minute that passes - ever since the selection.

BRING IT ON YOU YAHOOS & DITTOHEADS!

1. Screw that bush buttkisser.
He/she probably didn't say a damn thing when repukes had anti-Clinton bumperstickers on their cars.

13. EXACTLY!
I had an '88 chevy until a few months ago, a beater, and I had several bumper stickers on it, such as: George W. Bush, Weapon of Mass Destruction; Proud to be an American Against the War; and a couple of other blatantly anti-Bush, anti-repuke, anti-war stickers.

I was kinda nervous at first because this is a fairly conservative area, but surprisingly I got more positive response than negative, often from people who felt the same way I did but were afraid to say anything because they thought they were alone. The negatives were nasty, though, blatantly threatening notes on my car, calling me a "filthy whore", and threatening harm.

I debated constantly with my parents and here at DU as to whether or not I should leave them on. When I got robbed at gunpoint sitting in my car after work, though, I finally decided to take them off. I don't think one had to do with the other, but I was scared out of my wits at that time and, being a single mother, I just couldn't take the chance of something worse happening. There's nothing like feeling the cold barrel of a gun being shoved in your ribs and then your neck to change your perspective on things.

That being said, I applaud your stickers and fully support your leaving them on and adding even more. Bring it on, indeed!!!!

2. I like all your bumperstickers, Tanklv --
-- and if the person who left the note didn't like them, it may be that your being a critical thinker is threatening.

Drive safe, drive free & drive Democratic.

15. Agreed, Robbien . . .
Some people add nothing of value to the discourse but serve instead to detract from the reasoned voices. Sad but true state of affairs. Only one solution, same one I use in my life off the web. . .

18. You're right, I am sure. We must all just bend over and take it like real
men.

How do -you- propose to fight against incipient fascism?...just accept it?

Bush said the same thing regarding Saddam.

24. No, we should not be passive
Posting crude posts about raping a person who leaves nasty notes on your car is offensive and does degrade the poster and all who reads the post.

I didn't just sit here and let it go by but posted my objection. No, we should not just sit here and take crap. We should take action when something happens that goes against one's beliefs.

The attitude you displayed above is a perfect example of why so many Americans consider themselves "anti-liberal." They see us as uptight, humorless thought cops who want to force our "anti-American agenda" on everyone else.

The DUer who posted a couple of curse words probably has a better chance of getting "the Great Unwashed" to listen to his point of view than you do, because he wouldn't come across as pompus and condescending.

23. I, for one, give 'em a taste of their own medicine.

I mentioned this in the Lounge several weeks ago, but perhaps it bears repeating.

While on my delivery route one afternoon, I saw a car with a number of right-wing bumper stickers on it, like WHEN IN DOUBT, EMPTY THE MAGAZINE. So I left a nice little note on the windshield:

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TREE-HUGGING, ANTI-WAR, HOMOSEXUAL, VEGETRAIAN SOCIALIST!

Just a shame I couldn't have seen that moron's face when he read the note. Well, assuming he *could* read!

Can anybody get into you box or did it happen within the postal system? Either way you should report it.

Oh and TankLV, if you hear horns honking, it's me telling you I love your bumper stickers.

While I was in my boss's office yesterday - he began with the following:

"I don't know how you feel about bush - but"

and proceeded to tell me how afraid he was for our country, with the stripping of the bill of rights, the lying by our AWOL chickenhawk non-elected pResident, etc.

A lot of his relatives were killed in the earlier Hitler's camps.

I leave in an hour or so to buy a pink triangle pin, which I intend to where all the time from now on.

If they dare to come after us, I will eliminate as many of them as I can before I'm dealt with.

I will not go quietly.

I really fear there's a good chance it will come to that.

BRING IT ON!
