The conservatives pressured him to take this stand, but it will fail and they will feel that he is not competent. Meanwhile, average Americans see this as a ruse. The dork started his statement by saying that this is a free country, then continued about how we have to make it less free, then ended by saying there is no contradiction. What an ass. 11. I think this wedge issue's a loser for Repubs... Remember Buchanan in 92

and his gaybashing speech at the '92 Repub convention in Houston. Single handedly scared the crap out of a ton of folks... I remember reading numerous accounts of people who said they watched that speech and made up their minds right then and there to vote Democratic.
