Why do conservatives think there is a plague of liberal judges?
Edited on Tue Feb-24-04 08:52 PM by wuushew
Between eight years of Raygun, four of Bush 41 and three of W how could Clinton pack any federal court given the constant blockage of his judicial nominations?

Weren't these "activist" judges in reality all appointed by conservative Presidents?

4. This is nothing new.
The RW has harped on this for decades.

I just wish the general voting public understood that presidents can form courts that last for decades, as well. But the SCOTUS seems to never be an issue, even to many Progressives.

5. They DON'T
Its all part of the spin. They don't care about facts. Everyone should know that. They say what serves their purposes.

6. Activist ? Judges
An interesting fact:
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court recently held by a 4-3 vote that the Massachusetts Constitution requires marriage rights be extended to same gender couples as well.

Three of the four justices (including the Chief Justice) that voted in favor were REPUBLICAN appointees.

Like everything else, the right wing spin beats the issue into the ground until it becomes quote, "the truth", unquote. The right wing think tanks have been working on their vocabulary very hard ever since the days of Jimmy Carter, all of their work is finally paying off. What needs to happen is the population needs to keep themselves informed which seems to be happening to some extent. Just look at the books sales, how many people are on the Internet vs. watching T.V., the people going to the polls to change the direction of this country. It is very hard to screw with an educated society. Please make sure our children get a good education also.
