Terminology Question- Marriage Rights
I wish we could get past the term "Gay Marriage." That is Our President (tm) w's term. This isn't only a "gay" issue- it is a human rights issue, a pursuit of happiness issue and a separation of church and state issue as well. Not to mention that in phrasing it this way you are leaving out bi-, lesbian and the transgendered.

Quit calling this issue "Gay Marriage." It is more properly termed "Marriage Rights."

1. A friend of mine raised that point ...
Please define 'man' and 'woman', Mr. Bush ?
Then we'll talk about defining 'marriage'.

2. How about American Rights
Keep it Patriotic and simple. We need to give all Americans the same rights not pick and chose as long as what we are talking about is legal.

3. Constituion is not the place for a marriage issue
Marriage is a state issue.

This is a civil rights issue. Do the states (which have rights over marriage) have the authority to give rights to one group of citizens while denying another group equal rights.

CIVIL RIGHTS and STATES RIGHTS those are the words for democrats (who are too pitiful to stand up for gays and lesbians).

5. But, rich white men are better than everyone else.
Bush* just wants the law to reflect that.

4. It already has a name: Equal Protection under the law

no separate status for certain groups, no colored waiting rooms, and it's not something states can opt out of.

6. As a single person, I'm well aware
of just how many more "rights" married couples have just by virtue of being married, and it really infuriates me.
