DO run for school boards far too often, and far too often manage to win by trumpeting such ignorance and arrogance. My own school board has been invaded by such types, who to me, frankly, are the REAL traitors of this country, and I'm seriously considering running next year (no openings this year).

My parents are retired teachers, and they had to deal with idiot ignoramuses like that all the fucking time, it's one of the main reasons why they retired early because they just couldn't take it anymore. Especially since they taught English and history/social studies, where there was always the potential for "hot-button issues" coming up, there were always parents who didn't like what their kids had to read, or write, or the way my mom "indoctrinated" history, and bullshit like that, etc., etc.

Infiltrating school boards beginning in the 70's is how the wingnuts began taking over everything in the first place, you know.

Seriously, showing "Bowling" might be over the top, unless the instructor also provides an alternate view or arguments. Still, (if this is high school) the kids should be able to discern for themselves if a teacher is spouting BS or not. I wanted my daughters to be exposed to as many diverse views as possible.

I remember all the propaganda my history teachers tried to sell me about Vietnam when I was in high school. I didn't buy it. It never bothered me when a teacher had different views than me.
