Clear Channel profits flat despite marketing blitz
http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/040224/media_clearchannel_earns_1.html

“NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Clear Channel Communications Inc. (NYSE:CCU - News), the largest U.S. radio station chain, on Tuesday said its quarterly profit was little changed from a year earlier, reflecting sluggish local advertising demand.

Shares in the San Antonio, Texas-based company hit a three-month low after the results but recovered partly by early afternoon trade on the New York Stock Exchange (News - Websites) and were down just 1 percent.

Clear Channel said it spent more on marketing and promotions in the fourth quarter while revenue from its radio unit, which accounts for 40 percent of the overall total, fell 1 percent.”

….

Could it be that the right wing talk doesn’t sell after all? I would be very happy to see Clear Channel go right down the toilet along with their cadre of right wing liars.

1. It means the RW doesn't have jobs either
to buy the products being advertised hence slow advertising sales.

2. I saw a sign in the Chicago O'Hare airport...
ClearChannel - How many ways have we reached you today?

I felt that it was taunting me. I'm glad to say that they haven't reached me, though, as I don't expose myself to commercial entertainment much.

3. The more we don't listen Clear Channel makes less money.
That's right everytime we listen to, "RW hate radio", the advertisers that buy air time get our angry lefty ears.

Use your dollar, don't listen to RW hate Radio, let Rush and Hannity eat dirt.

When you listen to them, you make them money.

When we don't listen, we not only take profits away from teh Am Hate Radio tools, we also let Clear Channel know and the Radio stations that play the RW nuts that we are not happy with their programing.
