Right here in Wichita,funny...Oil Dick and Bush NEVER got near any Kansas cities in 2000,it was a lock back then...how about now??

Well...about 175 showed for his $1,000 to get in the door blowout. Funny thing is about 100 were outside with pickets demonstrating!!

Bawhahah, pretty equal showing for a State that always goes Repigs in a big way for President.Whatever Dem who gets the nomination should come to Wichita, they might be damn surprised by the turnout...

2. and KCK, a town
that Cheney would not be wise to visit. I would be surprised if the number of attendees/picketers were anywhere near equal.

But that was a great thing to have happen in Wichita, fer sure!
I agree, that Kansas could be soft on the * 2004 race. Too many unpleasant tastes in the collective mouth of Kansas Republicans.

It was nice that they were able to put off the Boeing plant abandonment and massive layoffs until after the election, though.

3. Yep.....
We've got over 13,000 high paying aviation jobs that are history, many will never come back.

The sneaky stuff that these aircraft plants are now doing is laying off in small batches that don't make much in the way of headlines.

Boeing is dropping another 100-150 employee's in the modification dept. Bombardier gave out 160 layoff notices that take effect in about mid-April. That news was on TV but never made it into the paper until about two weeks later.

Economic recovery my ass....

4. at some point the trickle will become a stream
then a river. I am sad, as I have several friends who are going to be SOL when this happens. And really, if the town does not find a way to diversify its economy, it is sunk.
