Great John Dingell letter to bushco on hamburger manufacturing.
This might have already been posted, but I sorta looked and no see.

---

snip

I do have some questions of this new policy and I hope you will help me provide answers for my constituents:

Will federal student loans and Trade Adjustment Assistance grants be applied to tuition costs at Burger College?

Will the administration commit to allowing the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) to fund cutting edge burger research such as new nugget ingredients or keeping the hot and cold sides of burgers separate until consumption?

Will special sauce now be counted as a durable good?

Do you want fries with that?

Finally, at a speech he gave in Michigan this past September, Secretary Evans announced
the creation of a new Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing. While I understand that it takes a
while to find the right candidate to fill these positions, I am concerned that five months after the
announcement no Assistant Secretary has yet been named. I do, however, know of a public
official who would be perfect for the job. He has over thirty years of administrative and media
experience, has a remarkable record of working with diverse constituencies, and is extraordinarily
well qualified to understand this emerging manufacturing sector: the Hon. Mayor McCheese.

2. Ketchup as a vegetable redux
Give the Pubs enough rope and eventually they will come up with gems like these. Way to start things rolling John Dingell. When the Pubs really "step in it" ridicule is the best response.

9. Hey now, somebody has to manufacture the ketchup.
Just like this administration has to manufacture horseshit.

All they need to do is classify Republican horseshit as a manufactured good, and Voila!, they regain all the lost jobs.

12. No - Reagan era when the pubs classified ketchup
as a vegetable so the school lunch program could save money by serving 1 vegetable and some ketchup on the hamburger and satisfy the requirement for two vegetables in the lunch. I am not kidding. This really happened. It is another example of Pubbie Orwellian use of the language.

Bird-brained idea to make school lunches cheaper...also worked as a disguise for Mystery Meat.

3. French/Freedom fry cooking
:D

"It could be inferred from your report that the administration is willing to recognize drink mixing, hamburger garnishing, French/freedom fry cooking, and milk shake mixing to be vital components of our manufacturing sector."

lol!

5. no! this is no mere inference!
its the god-awful truch

the administration,
in order to stop the bleeding of manufacuring jobs
has come up with this gem
fast-food workers can now be 'added'
to the 'new manufacturing jobs' sector

this is for real!

what dorks came up with THAT?
and the next time manufacturing job numbers come out
you can bet the media will be all over that one

4. That's Great !!
I just called the congressman's office to commend him for the letter. He used to represent us (before we were redistricted)and we worked on his last campaign.

10. I love it when he asks Mankiw
"Do you want fries with that?" This is a great tactic. We should ridicule their idiotic policy proposals at every opportunity.
