"Defense of Marriage" is yet another example of where he/she who defines the terms of the argument wins. So if you are against DOMA this implies you are against marriage - ack.

4. How about "Defense of Parenting Act"

It's obvious that marriage is not and can never be a "sacred institution" in this country (Brittney, Liza, Arnold, Dick Morris, etc. etc. etc.) but EVERYONE should agree that parenting is sacred. As Jackie Kennedy said, "If you bungle raising your kids, nothing else matters."

With all of the valid criticisms of Bill Clinton's marriage, I never once heard anyone criticize his or Hillary's parenting of Chelsea, and how you raise your children is, IMHO, the most important thing.

Marriage cannot be sacred. Sometimes married people fall in love with someone else and nothing, absolutely nothing, can stop them from wanting to be with the person they love, but they can still be good parents. For example, I know a lesbian who fell in love with a man and left her lover for him. They are still together twenty years later and have a wonderful relationship. A gay marriage or even a straight marriage would not have stopped this.
